September 30, 2018 Russian River RV Park, Cloverdale CA

Well we had a little hiccup today.  We were in Hopland getting gas and we exited exited the gas station onto Hwy 175. We then turned left onto 101 and some woman pulled out from a parking spot and hit us as we were in the lane. Fortunately we did not get much  damage.  The fender has a hairline crack and some black marks. The other car was not so lucky.
l could not believe how much damage that little bump caused on that car.  Makes me afraid to be in anything smaller than a semi.

Other than that our day was fairly normal.  I couldn't sleep last night so I woke up late.  Steve was down stairs asleep at 7:30 so I went back to bed until 9. Another month is over and am anxious to go to Arizona already. 2 busy months to go.

Got up and dressed and tidied up.  Candy arrived at 11 am as scheduled so we sat and chatted for a couple of hours.  Art didn't come as he was having a bad morning.   About 12:30 we decided to have another meal at the Thai spice place.   We were stuffed when we left. That's when we decided to to off the tank.  Apparently we missed the turn off to our park and drove into Hopland for gas where we had our fender bender.
Once we got the CHP involved we were back watching football by 4pm.
We snacked for dinner .  I sat outside for awhile, fed and walked the puppies.
I went up to watch a movie but couldn't get interested in one.  Will continue to read until I can watch NCIS-LA.  We are on the road home to the Placerville area tomorrow.
Can't wait for all the drama to start.  We are both anxious to see our door in Coarsegold.

September 29, 2018 Russian River RV Park, Cloverdale CA

It finally rained today.  Not a steady downpour but I would classify it as a constant drizzle.
Got up or should I say I got woken up aunt 7:45.  Decided I should probably stay up.  Steve decided he wanted bacon and eggs for breakfast so that is what we had.
Finished two loads of laundry  with no waiting period.   It started sprinkling about 11 am.  So we hurriedly put up the back.  Which sparked more activity like putting the bike in the garage and basicly breaking camp.  Our loop here at the park is pretty much deserted.
Once the laundry was done I finally finished the book I was reading which I really enjoyed.  Lots of good mystery writers out there.  This one was by Melinda Leigh called Say you're Sorry.  Can't wait to read the next one in the series. Well written.
I fixed dinner about six which was tacos.
Dishes  TV and bed much later. Basically we hunkered down for the day and had a down day.
Hazel did another number on the carpet. I can't wait to get that carpet out of there.  I know Steve is dragging his feet because he doesn't want to get down on his hands and knees to do it..  it is beginning to smell really bad in there when it gets warm.

September 28, 2018 Russian River RV Park, Cloverdale CA

I was reading over some of my earlier blogs and realized that I am going to have to go back and  do some clean up.  Lots of of typos.
We got up really late today.  I finally got up about 8:30.  Steve didn't get up until almost 9. I got up and snuggled with Hazel on the couch. Of course I might have snoozed there as well.  I  got up and walked the dogs, pulled the bedding off the bed and prepped for doing laundry.   Then sat around reading my book.  I am guessing it was about 10:30 and I asked Steve what time his friend Gino was supposed to come over.  He wasn't sure.  About three minutes later we heard the rumble of a motorcycle and sure enough it was Gino.  Steve was still in his night shorts for lack of a better description  and I had not brushed my teeth yet.

Anyway we sat and visited for awhile finally I got up and checked to see if the laundry was available yet. The laundry is set up somewhat different here.  Each bathroom in each loop has one washer and dryer.  You can put an app on your phone that pays for the laundry no quarters needed (pay range).  If we were going to be here any length of time I would use it but you add money in $25.00 increments.  Apparently the housekeeping people also use the laundry or should I say monopolized the washer and dryer.  The laundry facilities are for the guests to use not the housekeepers.  I my opinion any way. Anyway finally about 1 PM  I was able to get two loads done.  I have two loads left for tomorrow and Sunday.   Fortunately the laundry is right across the street so it is very convenient to us.  I figure that we could do it here and I will be good until we get to Coarsegold.
Gino Hawley visited us .  He lives fairly  close by.  His house and everything he had burned to the ground in a recent fire.  About a year ago I think.  He is in the process of rebuilding.   What an ordeal.  Feel sorry for the guy as he is no spring chicken.

He left about 1:30.  We kicked back the rest of the afternoon.  I finished the laundry.  Then finished my book.  Steve carved for awhile and I sat outside and read.

For whatever reason Steve wanted to go out for dinner again tonight.  We went to the Thai place in Cloverdale.  It was actually quite good.  It is called Thai Spice.  Similar to Chinese but spiced differently.   We had spring rolls shrimp fried rice and cashew nut chicken.

Then back to the rig for TV and coloring.   All in all a good day.

September 27, 2018 Russian River RV Park, Cloverdale CA

Well at least we are consistent in our wake up times.  We got up and breakfasted  and our chores then left to go to the produce stand on River Road about 30 miles from here.  We were armed with an insulated bag with blue ices.  The stop at the produce stand was very brief as once again Steve needed a restroom.   Which I might add we found on the opposite side of the produce stand.  We missed the last of the gravestein apples.   The we went to a home depot and Steve picked up a few things we needed.  The I went to Walmart and got some things but it wasn't a super Walmrt so I was only able to get a few of the things that we needed.
We got back about 1 PM and put the groceries away. Had lunch.  I walked the dogs and Hazel finally pooped.  The I sat outside and ended up taking a small nap.
Candy Blass came by for a short visit.  She was married to Jimmy Sutton now married to Art Blass.  He works for the city of Santa Rosa.  They have been together since 2000 but married in 2008.
She has a son who is married named Matt. He lives in Healdsburg but works in Santa Rosa. She has two Bostob terriers. Wyatt and Teijis.
Nice lady.  Art dropped in to say hello but only stayed a very short time.  Candy left about 6 PM. We then jumped in the truck and had dinner at the Burger ranch and BBQ.
Back to the rig to enjoy the rest of the evening coloring reading and watching TV.

September 26, 2018 Russian River RV Park, Cloverdale CA

Lots of work accomplished here at the house. Steve washed the rig and the truck including all the windows of the trailer. He worked very hard on this very hot day.
Meanwhile I baked cookies, did dishes and the normal every day chores. I cleaned the microwave  It was too hot to do much walking.  Did some coloring and reading and generally tried to stay cool.
We BBQ'ed hamburgers for dinner.  I walked the dogs on a short walk. Then sat outside for about 40 minutes.  Steve only lasts for about 5 minutes before wanting to go back inside. Then more coloring and of course TV and reading. This was more like living in the trailer. I think that this will happen more often in fiesta grande. Glenda is supposed to be there the day after we arrive.  We won't get very set up.  But it will be nice to see Bea and everyone else.

September 25, 2018 Russian River RV Park, Cloverdale CA

Another beautiful day in the park. It was in the 50's this morning when we got up. It warmed up quickly. We had breakfast which was left over breakfast burritos.  We left the house about 9:30 and drove around the ClearLake area to see all the damage the Mendocino Complex fire damage did.
Taken from Highway 175  outside of Lakeport.
We got back to the rig about 12:30 and had lunch.  I finished my book and hung out in the trailer till it cooked down.  I braved the showers about 5 PM and got that out of the way.  We had left over pizza for dinner.  Sat outside for a very short period of time.  Then  TV and coloring.
We received some good news . Park of Sierra called to tell us a spot opened up.  They will hold it until we can check it out when we get there on the 7th of October.  Way cool.

September 24, 2018 Russian River RV Park, Cloverdale CA

Well we are now 150 miles closer to home at Russian River Thousand Trails R V Park.  It is very hot here in the nineties.   Already missing the Coast and all our friends there.  We got up around 7:30 and begin to breakdown camp.  We took out time to visit with the neighbors.  Steve gave Susie a ride on the motorcycle which she really seemed to enjoy.  We were able to hit the road by 10:30.
We took about 3 hours to get to the Russian River.  We camped here about 15 years ago with LaWanda and Alan.  We were able to get a pull thru and we are able to get satelite service.  Which is really great since all the new serials start up the week.  Now the next hurdle we have to cross is satellite service at Coarsegold.
Once we got set up we kicked back until it was time for dinner which was steak salads.  Reading and dishes followed.  Then coloring and Dancing with the stars followed.
We had a great visit with the Stickney's but we are glad to be moving on tho we will miss our neighbors the Martin's and the Fords.  I wish we would have been able to spend more time with them. I think when we get to Fiesta Grande we will be able to forge longer lasting relationships and the activities there will make the three months there go way too fast.
The spots here are very narrow.  We are parked in the pull through spot 56 to 58 in C section right near C bathrooms.  Interestingly enough they have one washer and dryer at the restrooms.  Or I should say  outside of the bathrooms.  There is of course no sewers and only 30 amp service.  It is a NACO Thousand Trails Park.

September 23, 2018 Ancient Redwoods RV Park, Redcrest CA

The Stickney's annual visit is over and we survived!.  7 days of non stop activities.   They are really great people but too much of a good thing is wearing. Enjoyed Sheila and we both got a chance to vent.
We got up at normal time and prepared for our last brunch.   They got here at normal time about 10:30. I made waffles with either syrup or blackberries and whipped cream and sausage.
Once breakfast was done and dishes cleaned we sat and chatted, took the dogs for a walk. The neighbor let me take a tour of their rig.  I really loved it.  It's a 2018 .  There are very few things I  didn't like about it.  Then she took a tour of our rig.  Then while the guys were watching TV we girls colored outside.  Sheila did really well.  The guys decided to come outside and bring snacks.  Steve is always complaining about the smoke yet he comes outside.  The logic escapes me.
After the game is over the guys jumped in the truck to fuel up and get us a pizza.  That took over an hour.  Meantime Sheila and I made the salad and got everything ready for the dinner.  We dined outside. Steve and Jerry watched the game outside.  Neighbors came over to say good bye to Jerry and Sheila.   They brought us over bottle openers earlier.   Wish they brought us a whistle instead.
Sheila and Jerry left after the game was over.
I quickly cleaned the kitchen and fired up the TV and resumed our nightly routine.

September 22, 2018 Ancient Redwoods RV Park, Redcrest CA

Wow a day without the Stickneys or pretty much anyway. After we got up and moving we drove to Miranda for breakfast with Tim Mendes and his wife Diane and Cathy Hire and her husband Kenny.  Kenny was a tuna boat crewman among other things. He rides bikes and has three earrings in his ear.
We had a lovely breakfast out on the veranda of the Avenue Cafe in Miranda. We drove up and down the Avenue trying to kill some time until we could head up the hill to Carl Richardsons house.  We decided to park up at the house instead of leaving in on the road.  I sat and chatted with Sheila and a gal named Linda. She was funny. She had a middle aged daughter who had schizophrenia.   She was in the hospital for Male nutrition.
We didn't stay long so about 2:30 we headed down the hill and completed our tour of the Avenue.  We went to several fruit stand in Pepperwood.  Didn't find much a few tomatoes and a bell pepper.   Back to the rig and walked the the dogs.  Sat around the rig and starter to take a nap till Steve decided he wanted to talk to me.  Then Johnny Johnson and Mary Wynne came by for a final visit.  They left shortly after 6 when I prepared a quick dinner of left overs.
Then we went to our separate rooms  to watch TV and me to warm up and Steve to cool down.
Steve was in bed at nine as he only took one short nap today.  So I had lots me time tonight.

September 21, 2018 Ancient Redwoods RV Park, Redcrest CA

Sheila and I had another fun day in Eureka. It was our day to hit Costco.  Up at the 8 am.   They came at 10 am and we made breakfast burritos.   They turned out really well.  We cleaned up the mess and after a stern message from Steve about the perils of spending money we headed out to Costco.   Of course we had to stop at the Myrtle street market so Sheila could get a hammock to make beans.  Then after driving around Eureka in circles we wound up at Costco.   Did our shopping there but I felt Steve's iron grip on my spending arm. Still spent too much money.   Then Sheila stopped for gas after a couple aborted attempts in Fortuna where I ran into Safeway  to get foil.
We arrived back in camp about 2:30.  Sat around for awhile and Jihnny Johnson showed up and they rehashed old drunk stories.  Sheila and I walked down to the gift store to get some postcards.
Then Sheila and I played yardzee.  Then it was time to BBQ the steaks. While we were waiting for dinner to cook the neighbors two doors down came to chat. Turns out we met them last year at the Grand Design rally in Redbluff. Mike and Coleen Ford.  They Gave a guest lecture on full time RVing .  Small world.
I liked today's dinner better than yesterday 's.
We had dessert and it was time for the Stickney's to go home and me to do dishes and begin our nightly routine.
TV shower and  reading.

September 20, 2018 Ancient Redwoods RV Park, Redcrest CA

We got up about the same time as usual.  Jerry and sheila arrived separately about 2:30.  While waiting for them to arrive I made an apple cobbler and got things ready for the big BBQ. It was really warm out today.  Cooled off quick when the sun starts to go down.   Steve did some carving.  I read my book.
Sheila arrived with good news. She cancelled all of her cards. Then on a whim she called Walmart one of our stops and of course they had found her card case. Miracle!
We then begin preparing for the dinner.  Steve did a great job cooking the meat.  We ate about 5 and the next door neighbors Ron and Susie Martin joined us for dinner.  They  left about 6:30. Rin has night blindness so they head in early.   Very nice couple.  Been full timing for just under a year.  They are from Missouri not far from Branson. They owned their own business -- tax preparer
After we finished dinner and dessert  Sheila and I cleaned up the mess.  Sat around the fire and finished watching  the football game. Sheila likes Hallmark  Channel and some of the same programs I do.  The Stickney's left as soon as the game ended  and we got back into our nightly routine.

September 19, 2018 Ancient Redwoods RV Park, Redcrest CA

Had a wonderful day hanging out with Sheila.  We got up around 8 am.  Got ready and dove to Eureka to Jerry's.   We haven't been there in so long that we made a wrong turn going to their house.  We were astounded at the state their house is in. Her sister and nephew have latterly trashed the house.  So sad.  We finally got them motivated about 10:30.
Sheila and I took off for our day of shopping and a great girl day.  We started at Michael's. A couple of color books and a pencil sharpener.  On to CVS so sheila could get her prescription.   I got Steve low dose aspirin and raspberry duos.  Then we checked out Tuesday Morning where Sheila bought a sauce pan.
Then over to Bayshore Mall.  First on the list was Ross where Sheila bought yet another sauce pan.  Next was Bed Bath and Beyond where I bought an egg slicer and a hand strainer.   Still on the search for plastic glasses we hit TJ Maxx then Kohl's where I got a steal of a deal on a leather purse $27.dollars and change. We ducked  into  Stapkes for a Calender but a bit early for 2019. On to Pier One but they were out of my price range on plastic cups .  Decided to go to Target where we did a small amount of grocery shopping and I found some plastic  cups and another coloring book.  Then we has lunch at Subway and stopped at Sheila's bank so she could draw out some cash.  Then onto a poor excuse of a Walmart.  Picked up a few things that we needed. What few things they had in stock.  Then we headed home intending to stop in Fortuna. We stopped at Camden Market and picked up steaks and a tri-tip roast for tomorrow night's BBQ with the neighbors. That is when disaster struck and we realized that Sheila must have left her credit card holder at the bank when she used the ATM.  We drove over to Safeway where I shopped and Shela sat in in the car  and was desperately trying to cancel all her cards.   I fear terrible about it as my phone incident was a precursor for her and brought bad ju-ju to Sheila.  She was going to go back to Eureka to the bank but was able to cancel everything by phone fortunately.  It was so upsetting.  Once all that was taken care of the guys relaxed  outside while Sheila and I put groceries away and made a pasta salad which was very good.  We BBQ'ed hamburgers and hot dogs and finally sat around the fire till about 8:30.  I came in and did dishes and we finished up with TV and coloring.
Steve and Jerry on the other had had a great day washing the truck, visiting  friends Randy and Virginia Kent and Janine Cathy in Southern Humboldt.   The hike around the river and had a fun day as well. It was a fun day for everyone and we were able to recharge our batteries.

September 18, 2o18 Ancient Redwoods RV Park, Redcrest CA

Up at the usual time which for me seems to be 8am.  Got up and did our morning chores.  Jerry and sheila will be coming for breakfast at 10 ish.   I made biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, and bacon.  Turned out it was more like 10:30 but that is normal for the Stickney's. We chatted and ate until noon.  Then sat outside with a roaring fire (real) and visited with them and the neighbors till almost 4.  They had plans for the evening which is a nice break.  Steve and I walked the dogs.  Then we kicked back on the couch reading for me and snoring for Steve. Dinner dishes another walk and coloring and TV
The park looks like its having a Grand Design rally. We pulled in right next to 2 Solitudes. There was also a had a Reflection down the way. We are now friends with Ron and Susie Martin.  They have 2 cats. Their Solitude has a tray that pulls out of the back end  of their trailer. It is under the living room.  In it he carries wood working tools as he makes walking sticks. They are from Missouri in a town between Sedalia and Branson.  They seem very nice and will  be joining us for dinner on Thursday.

September 17, 2018 Ancient Redwoods RV Park Redcrest CA

We got up leisurely  this morning but were still able to get on the road shortly  after  10a.m.. Took about 2 hours to get here with one short potty stop.  Then all hell broke loose.
I must be losing my mind.  As soon as we arrived and we got set up I grabbed the laundry and the soap basket and headed to the laundry.  Sat there and washed and dried 6 loads of laundry. When the end was in sight I put my phone in the soap basket  handed it off to Steve and returned to finish the chore.  John Johnson came by to say hi.  Steve came to pick me up and take the clothes back to the rig.  After putting some of the clothes back I went to the soap basket to get my phone. It wasn't there. Went berserk looking everywhere for it. Sheila and Jerry arrived about that time. All of us made several trips to the laundry, women's bathroom and several searches of the trailer and clean clothes.  I even went to the office to check the lost and found. We couldn't call the phone as we have no service in the park..  Anyway a couple hours of stress the phone was found on the arm if the couch.  No one will take responsibility for putting it there.  I think Steve saw it in the basket  but was so busy talking to John Johnson he didn't realize that he took it out and set it on the arm  of the chair for me. I know I did not do it. I must have walked right by it a million times while searching for it.
After the phone scare we decided to go for dinner in Fortuna at the Eel River Brewry. Hamburgers were over cooked and high priced.  It was very noisy in there as well. Finished up around nine. Then Steve and I watched TV in our separate rooms till bed time.

September 16, 2018 Kamp Klamath, Klamath CA

This is our last day here at Kamp Klamath.  Not much going on. Up at 8 and made breakfast burritos.   Then a relaxing day watching football.  Walked the dogs down to the meadow. They ran like crazy.  Rolled in the dirt.  Didn't come when called.  The workers were driving cars decided to call it a day.
I colored most of the day.  Stephanie piercedcher nose. Unbelievable.
We took a ride to the ocean.  Made a loop right here by the camp.   Came back and made Chinese.  I think the best place to get Chinese is at a Chinese restaurant.
I colored  a lot today.  Now T V and bed.

September 15, 2018 Kamp Klamath, Klamath CA

We did better getting up this morning. I was up around 8.  We were thinking of going on a short hike but that did not happen.  We lounged around this morning.  Steve decided to do some carving and I did some coloring.   Took the dogs  for a rather long walk and let them run to their hearts content.  Walked back.
Once lunch was over and it was a good one. Cold chicken sandwich.  Did some more coloring.   Decided to bake some cookies which I have to say turned out well. Amish Sugar Cookies that I found on Facebook.   Didn't take much time either.
We BBQ'ed ribs which didn't turn out as well as the first half.  I think that we need to buy better cuts of meat.  I bought those at Walmart and it shows.
After dinner we had a quick sit down in front of the fire.  A little too chilly for us.  AZ in the winter is so nice.  We went from hot hot to frigid.
Did dishes and settled in for the night in front of the TV.

September 14, 2018 Kamp Klamath, Klamath CA

Well well another late sleep in morning. Got to start getting up before 9 am. Too hard to get to sleep at night. We decided to take a short road trip up beyond the campsite. It turned out to be the mouth of the Klamath River. Haley called to say that she wouldn't be able to see us as they would be out of town.  Apparently they are splitting the sheets.  I have to say I had an inkling something was going on as they haven't been doing much posting on Facebook. She also said she had a minor heart attack but didn't go to the doctor for two days. Stupid.
Once we saw the scenery at the end of the road we discovered a private cemetery off to the side of the road.
Then we left for Crescent City.   We had a nice lunch of fish and chips for me and a chili burger for Steve.   Then over to Walmart. Well stocked.
Then home to unload the groceries. Decided to have hot dogs for dinner since we had a big lunch.
There are quite a few nice parks in the area. Camper Corral, chinook, klamath River to name a few. Doubt if we will  be by here again for awhile.
After dinner it was dishes coloring and TV.
Bears are about. Steve found Bear shit in the meadow not  Steve knows his shit!

September 13, 2018 Kamp Klamath Klamath CA

We left the beautiful Oregon Coast this morning.  Wish we could have spent more time there.  We wanted to leave around 11 as we only had to travel 76 miles down 101 to  Kamp Klamath.  But try as we might we were rolling at 10:30 we were rolling.  We thought we might have problems getting out of the site but fortunately the guy across the street left with his truck.  If we stay there again we should request to be up front in the first loop or site 91 would give us satellite reception.
We moseyed down the road and stopped at the Marina in the parking lot to have drinks and snacks to stall for time.  Next time we might want to check out Golden Bear RV Park  instead of Klamath.  Also there are several places to pull off and watch the scenery once you pass the Marina heading south towards Klamath. So we are back in the Golden State of California and outrageous gas prices.
We arrived about 1at Kamp Klamath. and got set up.  We have satelite.  Took the dogs for a walk . Then it was time for dinner, shower, coloring, and T V.

September 12, 2018 Turtle Rock RV Park Gold Beach OR

Wow we slept in till 9 am. I woke up at 7:30 and Steve was still asleep so Hazel and I crawled right back into bed where it was nice and warm.  Once I got up we decided to make pancakes and bacon and eggs for Steve.
By the time we finished breakfast I made the mistake of reminding Steve about sending the names we collected to the appropriate person in the wood carvers group.  That took a good two hours to figure out how to scan a document.   Anyway it tooks us almost to 3 o'clock until we were ready to head to the store and get gas.
Once we got gas and went to the store we came back and put away the groceries.   Then I made Kentucky Fried chicken or what was supposed to be KFC. Didn't really make the grade. Not only that but it was very expensive.  Peanut oil and buttermilk.   Things I don't normally buy.  We did have enough  left over for two more meals.
Walked the dogs the we started the fire and invited the neighbors over to chat.  Ther talked our ears off for about 45 minutes. Once they left we came in and finished off the cobbler and ice cream and hunkered down for the night.

September 11, 2018 Turtle Rock RV Park Gold Beach OR

Another beautiful day on the coast of Oregon.   We got up and did our chores and had breakfast. Steve was expecting company so he was cleaning like mad.  Mostly the truck which we neither rode in or even opened while the company was here.
Tony Bonfiglio and his roomie Shelly Forsythe arrived promptly at noon. Tony worked at the county with Steve.  They were both single parents.  They both had daughters to raise.
We sat out in front of the rig and gave  them a tour of the rig. About quarter to one we got in their car and went to lunch at Indian Creek RV park.   Tony took me to the bathroom and I  came back with the wrong guy. I swear he looked just like Tony.  We left the restaurant at 2 PM and they took us over to their new home. Sits up at the top of Tom Cat Hill . 4200 square feet on several level. More house than I want to take care of.  Came partially furnished.  Too many stairs for me.  They are about 7 or 8 years younger than me.
About 4 we jumped in the car and took a tour of Honey Bear park on ophir road north of town.  Think we will try out that park next time.
We got back to our rig about 5 and sat outside for awhile.  I started to make dinner and Steve suggested we run downtown and get dinner at the Thai food truck.  It was ok.  Better than cooking.  We came back ate and then it was time for the finale of Bachelor in paradise.
Stephanie called and said James is is stirring the pot with the kids as the bone of contention. And once again proves what an asshole he is  and the drama begins.

September 10, 2018 Turtle Rock RV Resort Gold Beach OR

Not a lot to report today. Steve had another rough night. I got up to go potty about 3:30 and he was out on the couch already.  I got up about 7 and joined home on the couch. I threw a blanket over me and snuggled with Hazel for another hour and a half. At 8:30 I walked the dogs. Came back and had breakfast and decided to finish the book I was reading.   An Adele Plank book which takes place in the San Juan Islands .  It was ok, better than the first one but definitely not on par with a Robery Dugoni book.
Once I finished my book, brushed my teeth, made the bed, and made lunch I took the dogs for a walk.  Came back and decided to color for awhile.  About 4 I guilted myself into taking a walk on the beach.  I walked for about 45 minutes.
Then dinner a a fireside chat with Steve. Then the long awaited next to last episode of Bachelor In Paradise. It was a real bummer having to watch all the commercials and being able to pause the show.  I continually found myself trying to hit the fast forward button.
Now to take the pups out one last time...

September 9, 2018 Turtle Rock RV Resort Gold Beach OR

Another gorgeous day on the coast.  Inland it was in the low 70's, 60's on the coast.  We left early about 9 am.  We made a couple of stops for potty breaks and lunch.   Poor Steve didn't get much sleep last night.  The diarrhea came on strong.
We dove 215 miles down 101 to Gold beach.  We got here about 2:30.  We quickly did the set up and collapsed.  We have a nice spot unfortunately we could not get satelite.   I am sure I told her we needed satelite.  Anyway we have cable. So since Direct TV has a football game scheduled. Hopefully cable won't have the game scheduled. Surely that was a mistake on the part of Direct.  Can't miss the final episode of Bachelor in Paradise.  Won't be able to record it and skip the commercials.
Anyway I told Steve not to make any commitments on Monday or Tuesday nights.
We had Chinese for dinner bought in the frozen food section of Safeway.  Then a quick trip to the beach and  back. Sat outside for few minutes then dessert and T V.
LaWanda is in Paris for her Birthday.   Better her than me.

September 8, 2018 Neskowin Creek RV Resort Neskowin OR

Another sunny or at least partially sunny day on the coast. We got up rather late 8 am but we were out the door and headed down to the clubhouse for breakfast. It was a very good breakfast for something like that. There were actually chuncks of meat in the gravy.
After breakfast we walked back to the rig and grabbed the dogs.  First we headed to Pacific City to check out the Thousand Trails Encore park.  It was nice nut reminded us a lot of La Conner.  Then we headed back down 101 towards Newport to check out the park at South Beach.   It's called Whaler's Rest.  We thought we would't mind staying there.  And there were some spots we thought we could get into.  The lady at the welcome center was very helpful.
After that we headed north . Made a couple of stops at Walmart in Newport  and Safeway in Lincoln City .. I decided to make a BlackBerry cobbler.since we missed the ice cream social at 1 today I got some ice cream to go with it--Blackberry swirl.
Got back home around three and almost finished my book.  Made chicken  roll ups and my cobbler which turned out rather well.   Did not get up on my perch much to the dog's chagrin until 8:30.  Dishes and dessert and it is already after 9.
Steve's diarrhea has returned with a vengeance as I predicted.

September 7, 2018 Neskowin Creek RV Resort Neskowin OR

Finally the day came and we left our little piece of paradise about 9:30 on a nice sun shiny day.  We took hwy 26 to 212 then picked up 205 in Oregon City.  That led us to 5.  At exit 260 A we took Business route 99 to 22 to 18 to 101.  On Hwy 22 we found a place to stop for a bathroom break and have lunch.  While there we were able to pick a few blackberries.   The bushes were loaded but they were almost too ripe.  Once we turned on 101  we were real close to our destination Neskowin Creek RV Resort which we visited through ROD.
We got here about 1:30 along with a boat load of other people wanting to get settled in for the weekend. The sun was shining but it didn't take long for a Marine layer to settle in. Steve sat in the truck while I went in to have a private conference in the office about checking into out spot.
We got set up rather quickly. We even managed to take a walk and check out the dog park.  Once we returned  We turned on the satelite and that is when potential disaster stuck.  It seemed like the genie wasn't turning on and connecting to the TV. So we decided to switch the outside genie with the one that was not working.  Once we did that the "broken" genie miraculously updated and began working.  Crisis averted.
We had a quickie dinner.  I took the dogs out for another walk.  Really loving the 60 degree weather.  Read some and now watching TV.
We all love it here in neskowin.  Another successful change of backyards.

September 6, 2018 Mt Hood Village Welches OR

Finally we are blowing this joint tomorrow.  Love the area but glad to be moving on.  We slept in late again this morning but once we finished our chores we headed into Sandy for me to get a hair cut and Steve wanted to top off the gas tank. That took very little time and we were back at the ranch by noon.
We had a nice lunch then packed up the rest of out marbles and put the bike in the back..I talked to my eldest son  in his bent twisted way he feels that school is more important than working and putting a little money in the bank.  It would only be puttin it off for a month or two through the holidays. He was so upset he couldn't even discuss it. So we agreed to disagree.   We chatted for awhile more but not of us were anxious to get off the phone.
Anyway took a short walk to the river. It was much shorter than I anticipated.
We had a nice dinner and I finished yet another book. A J.D. Robb book called Leverage in Death.  I must say her books have lost their "gist".  Like she does a find and replace with the word processor.   She needs some new mojo.
More action less cop speak and analysis.

September 5, 2018 Mt Hood Village Welches OR

We were sleepy heads this morning. Did not get up until 9 am.  Steve was up part of the night most likely because he slept on and off all day long.  I did not see any need to get up and at em. I figured we did not have much planned.  Steve seems to have recuperated faster than I did.  Very warm today. Am anxious to blow this joint.
Once we breakfasted and did our chores we kicked back. We did wash the dogs. They enjoyed it so much. NOT! It is fun to watch Hazel run around after I towel her off.  Coloring and TV was the watchword of the day.
Fixed lunch and dinner. Steve was thrilled that he was able to cut up a whole tomato to put on his taco.  To his credit he cut it up for me. Took a couple of walks. Read my book and we sat outside for awhile after dinner.  Steve seems in pretty good spirits. He walked the dogs with me.

September 4, 2018 Mt Hood Village Welches OR

Well the inevitable happened. Steve got up at 4 this morning and was busy packing the loft.  I got up at 7:30.  Tried to make some reservations. We decided to go to Neskowin instead of Sutherlin. It will be much cooler on the coast than inland.  Of course Whaler's rest was full.  Another time. Anyway an hour or so later the stomach bug I had last week, hit Steve with a vengeance.   So we reshuffled things a bit. We ended up staying put here at an exorbitant price for 2 additional days.  As we packed up it was evident that he was not going to be able to finish packing up.  So we will stay here until the 7th then go to neskowin for 2 days before going to Gold Beach.  So we will be here for two more days. I was so anxious to hit the road but since I had it first I know how Steve is feeling. He has slept most of the day and seems a little better tonight. Hopefully the worse is over.
I did some coloring and TV.  Then about 4 PM I decided to take the dogs on a long walk.  So I am feeling noble.
Unfortunately we packed up the cell booster and dog run.
I fixed myself some dinner and made the defrosted hamburger into taco meat.
Sat outside with the dogs. I have no moved indoors for TV and of course Bachelor in Paradise.
I am kind of bummed that Colton will be the 2019 Bachelor. I just watched home breakup with Tia.  I am sure that coincided with an announcement from the network that he would become the New Bachelor.   And he's a virgin!
There is something fishy with Steve's forgetting the date of our Anniversary.  He didn't try very hard to find out the correct date.

September 3, 2018 Mt Hood Village Welches OR

Thirteen years ago today Ateve and I were married in a little church in the city of El Dorado CA.  I doubt that he remembered but if he did he didn't mention it.  I wasn't going to say anything but finally I did about noon.  He wasn't terribly surprised and we agreed to celebrate by visiting Baskin Robin's for a dish of ice cream. I am glad we didn't do cards as I wouln't have been able to think of anything romantic to write  I am still pretty upset about our little spat the other day and I can only conclude that he is as well.  Not that I am ready to call it quits but I am still miffed. Like I said we are not quite in sync.  Part of the problem is we have been pretty  much on the go everywhere until we got here where we have been many times. The last week I have been house bound which added to the problem.
I did fix the Master breakfast of French toast and sausage. We then got busy and loaded our things in the truck and drove to Timberline Lodge. They were having a music festival.  There were hundreds already there and more coming up the road as we were leaving.   The we headed to Sandy to get ice cream.  Then to Troutdale to shop at Walmaet.  Somebody backed into Steve while I was inside shopping.  Fortunately no damage was done other than a few feathers were ruffled.
Back home to put away the groceries and relax.  Dinner was quick since I bought a rotisserie chicken.
We sat outside for our token half hour in front of the fire. Guess I am going to have mount a TV on the gas fireplace and let Steve flip through the channels.  Shower and TV in the bedroom for the rest of the night.

September 2, 2018. Mt Hood Village Welches OR

Another really gorgeous day in the park full of people and kids. Got up rather early for me about 7:30.  Another bout of diarrhea caused me to decide to do laundry. The have a really neat computerized system. You can pay with a credit card and even schedule texts when the load is done washing or drying. The have this same system in Fiesta Grande. We got there just before the place got inundated with customers.  I literally got my clothes in the machines when the crowd descended.
After laundry we did lunch. I finished the last Robert Dugoni book. I remade the bed having washed the bed linens. It was as good as every other one. We sat outside for awhile.  Steve did some carving.   We BBQ'ed steaks. Steve had a pretty good  fire going when he pulled the steaks off.  Not enough water in the drip pan.
Once dinner and dishes was over we sat outside and had the fire going for about minutes. Took the dogs for their nightly constitutional.   Then TV and relaxing.
Tomorrow is our 13th Anniversary.  Wonder if Steve remembers. We are kind of out of sync right now.

September 1, 2018 Mt Hood Village Welches OR

We were up at a reasonable hour 8 am for me and out the door to take a hike from here to the streamwatch trail  we did the loop there then headed back to mt Hood Village.  Coming back the great trail blazer took a wrong turn and we ended up at someone's house just north of the village. The were very nice and got us back on track to the trailer.  It was about 3.75 miles and I got my 10k steps in and then some. Haven't done that in awhile.
I took it easy the rest of the day. By the end of the day i was feeling back to my  normal self.  Then the diarrhea started up again so dinner plans had to be readjusted.
Steve ate on his own and I had crackers.  Took the dogs for a couple more walks. Sat outside for awhile till it got too chilly.
There are tons of people here for the long weekend.   This is not an over 55 park so there are a lot of kids biking and running around everywhere.
The weather was beautiful it would have been a great day to take pics but could not get Steve motivated to leave the park.
We only have three more days here then we are off again.
