August 31, 2019 Lake Minden RV Resort, Nicolaus CA

Boy is it hot outside and it is going to be like that for the next two days. Last day of August. This is an ok park but there sure is a lot of people here and a lot of them are people of color.  We don't see lot of African Americans camping but they are in here with their tents and easy ups in droves. Since 4 PM yesterday the B and C sections are full to the gills with people and tents.
We got up fairly early and I made eggs for breakfast. We cleaned up.  Steve went out to carve and I made my final block for block of the week.  It turned out rather well.   At 2 we went to the ice cream social.  Steve had a banana split.  It was kind of expensive and the scoops were not big enough to warrant the extra cost.  We drove back  and checked out the extra people in the park.  We laid low during the heat of the afternoon.   I was sweating like a pig.  I worked at the sewing machine but was really uncomfortable.   We BBQ'ed  steaks which were really grated but we saved some for salads. Dishes then the usual TV and games in the bedroom with the air conditioner running.  I hate the heat!

August 30, 2019 Lake Minden RV Resort, Nicolaus CA

We had another busy day. We are staying close to the Ranch for the 3 days holiday.  We got up and did breakfast.  And chores.  I had to re walk the dogs so that Hazel would do her business.   Just so happens they both did their job.  About 9:15 we set off for Roseville to have the car serviced.  We sat in their waiting room until after noon.  We had a quick lunch at Panda Express which was very good.
We decided to visit Betty and take her a sympathy card.  I thought I would be better than mailing it and I am sure she appreciated the company.   Then we stopped at Walmart to pick up some supplies. Finalky we stopped for ice cream.
We didn't get back until 4 ish.  I finally finished my current read Roche Harbor Rogue.  Can't wait  for the next installment.  Finally it was time to watch some TV.
Expect another hot day tomorrow.  Last  block tomorrow.

August 29, 2019 Lake Minden RV Resort, Nicolaus CA

I went in and had my breasts squeezed today.  Hopefully I won't get a call back.  We got up about 7:30 ate and did our morning chores.  I got on the scale as usual and was disappointed to fond I had not lost anythind.  211.5.  Very frustrating. Then we made a beeline for Kaiser  Roseville.   I was only in there about 30 minutes but it is not something I wanted to do.  And sure hope it came out negative.  We made outmr stop at Michael's and Rockler. We stopped for lunch which turned out to be  a Pizza buffet.
Back at the rig I finally was able to put out my sewing machine and I made the head rest cover for Steve's chair.  Then I read for  awhile.   We had a late dinner of BBQ'ed hot dogs. I finally did dishes.  Then our usual TV and games.  Glenda abandoned me this week!

August 28, 2019 Lake Minden RV Resort, Nicolaus CA

Busy day here.  We got up about 7ish.  Did breakfast and morning chores.  Then we loaded up 2 weeks with of laundry and bed sheets. Then we drove 20 miles to Joy laundry where I did 6 loads of wash and 4 dryers.  It took us just over 2 hours.  Then we went 2 or 3 miles to Walmart to have our toes done.  First Steve went in and had his done and I stayed with the dogs.  Then I went in for nails and picked up a few groceries.   I grabbed us a sandwich at Subway just after 3.  We sat in the truck and wolfed down our sandwiches then headed back to the ranch stopping at the dog park.   Finally  we unloaded everything and put it away.  Rested for awhile then we made the bed.  We each had a snack for dinner.  Then I decided to watch TV.
I haven't even set up the sewing room yet and it probably won't happen  tomorrow  as we have to go into Roseville for my mammogram.   Finger crossed that everything is OK.  No reason to suspect otherwise but we can't take anything for grated.

August 27, 2019 Lake Minden RV Resort, Nicolaus CA

We have satelite.   It is scary when TV becomes so important  but we are back to our normal evening routine.
We got up leisurely and got ready to leave.  We hit the road about 9:30. We drive around the lake to Soooner Lake and thru Incline Village and King's Beach.  We hit 80 to 193. We ate on the road .  We arrived just after 1 in the afternoon.   It is very hot here.  Close to 100.  The lake is nice.  We got set up and took a rest.  Then drove through the park.   We checked out the laundry.   There was only 4 of each machine.   We could only use 2 machines at a time.  There was water all over the floor.  So we decided it was going to be a laundromat for us.  So we took a drive to Wheatland to check out the laundromat.   Came back and decided to go to Marysville and do laundry and toes.  We will see how that goes.
We ate leftovers from the campout.
It is very hot here but it is nice to 2 weeks here.  We only have 30bamp here and no sewer.  Well we can't have everything.   2 days to my monogram.

August 26, 2019 Tahoe Valley Campground, South Lake Tahoe CA

Our last night of cooler temps.  We leave Tahoe for much hotter climes.  We got up and Steve took off on a trip around the Lake.  I drug my sewing stuff out and finished my last three potholders.  I am getting much better about putting on the bindings.  I didn't have to do any ripping.  I used the A foot instead  of the quarter inch foot.  I also cut out the cover for Steve's chair. Then I picked up all the stuff and and put it back again.  I was kind of put out because Steve made a point of asking me if I would  have my sewing all picked up.  As soon as I finished getting it picked up he announces that he is taking a ride.  I could have sewed while he rode.  That really pissed me off.  So this morning I drug some of it back out and did a few things.  As soon as I finished he came back.  We put away a few things and waited for Kim and Don to come.  They were delayed by the construction on 50.  I think Kim has moved over to the casual acquaintance status.  Not the same vibe that we normally have.  They stayed and visited for awhile then we took off for the Burger Lounge.  We got to the main intersection and Steve insisted that we should turn left.  He was adamant.   So when I said we should have dmhone straight ahead I was immediately vetoed.   Finally we got going in the right direction.   We did have a nice lunch.   The we drove around and Don and Kim showed us a cute Lake nearby.  Then back to the rig  where we chatted for awhile and I showed Kim my quilting projects.  They left about 4 and I got a good bye hug  from Don but not Kim.  Interesting.   They took all our recycling.
After we left we went over city park and visited with Mike and Crissy.  We stayed  little over an hour.  Then back to the rig for a snack and TV.  Off to lake Minden.  Hopefully we will have satelite reception.

August 25, 2019 Tahoe Valley Campground, South Lake Tahoe CA

Everybody is gone.  We had a great time but not sad to see them gone.  It was hard work.  We slept in until 7:30.  Got up made the bed and got dressed.  I hadn't even combed my hair.  Made the gravy.  And  they cooked the bacon.  Our little grill came in handy for the bacon and potatoes.   I made the bisquits.   Everyone enjoyed the breakfast.   They all left by 10:30.  It took us until 1 working on and off to get get everything else picked up.
Then we met Barry and Donna for lunch at the Bear Beach Cafe in Greater Tahoe.  They came back with us to the rig.  They left about 4:30 .  While  we were at lunch Steve made a few comments that left me gasping.  He made light of it when I told hime it hurt my feelings.   Oh well water under the bridge.
After they left i finished the soup cozies and potholders for Sheila and Jerry.  And am also almost done with the additional three miscellaneous potholders.  It seems the girls really liked theirs.
I picked up the back and the Steve told me he is planning a ride in the morning.   I may drag the machine out and finish up the last three potholders.   Then I will mop the floors.

August 24, 2019 Tahoe Valley Campground, South Lake Tahoe CA

Oh boy what a fun day with the kids.  I got up at 7:30 when the alarm went off.despite not falling  asleep until after 2.  We fixed breakfast of pancakes , bacon, and eggs.  After it was all cleaned up Matt bless his little heart did all the dishes!.  What a sweetheart.  Then Stephanie,  Becky, Chad, Nikki and I went to the flea market down the road.  It was mostly jewelry, knives and birdhouses.  While we were there one of the vendors collapsed and 911 was called in. Then we went to goodwill.   I found 2 Wysocki puzzles and a hometown which I could not resist.   Then over to Raley's to restock. While we were gone Matt took the Harley for a spin.  Back to the rig and Becky BBQ'ed hamburgers and hot dogs.  I cut up some watermelon.  The Stephanie made a salad and BBQ'ed chicken.
Then everyone wandered off and Steve and I chatted for awhile.
I sewed for awhile.  Everyone wandered off to do their own thing.  Gabriel stayed around the rig  while everyone else was gone.  Around 4:30 I started making Irene's White Spaghetti.   A family favorite.   I found a way to keep it hot.  I heated up the slow cooker and it kept it hot while we waited for the BBQ to be  done.  The electricity  went out. For the second time.  Too many people drawing on it.  We turned on the generator but no plugs in the kitchen worked .  About that time the real electricity came back on.  We ate.  Jim and Teddy arrived.  We visited for awhile.  Finally the part broke up. Steph came in and did all the dishes.
Finally shower and relax
We can't do this very often as it is a lot of work.

August 23, 2019 Tahoe Valley Campground, South Lake Tahoe CA

I got up about 7:30 had breakfast and did our morning chores.  Steve decided that he wanted to put the truck parts on the truck and fix the gas griddle before we could go to the store. About 10:30 we went to Safeway and bought a lot of food.  Got back and put it all away.  Steve didn't eat breakfast and then only ate a half of cantaloupe  for lunch.  He had me buy all these snacks and the decided to go in a crash diet.  He did eat dinner.  No butter on his potatoes.   I think that he is depressed about Larry. Becky arrived about noon.  I sewed while they set up their camp. I took the dogs for a walk to see where their camp was.  Then more sewing.  About 3 the came down to play cards. Becky is on some crazy 1200 calorie diet so she can parade around in a bikini in some fitness exhibition.   We ate dinner together.  Nikki arrived about 6:30 or 7.  She and Chad came down to visit and we made smores.   Then stephanie arrive.  Then Stephanie and Matt came to chat til about 10:30.
Not sure what is going on with Steve.  Will have to see what tomorrow brings. He better eat all this food he requested I buy.

August 22, 2019 Tahoe Valley Campground, South Lake Tahoe CA

Wow we had a busy day today.  We got up and breakfast and morning choes.  I did my weekly weigh in which turned out to be  a shock.  I thought I would be down but no.  Way up 211.3.  Wow.  Back on the straight and narrow.   I finished the re make of block number three.   We decided to leave about 11 and grab a bite at Jimboy 'a for lunch.  Not as good as I remembered it.   When we pulled  into Jimboy's Steve looked down and the driver's side tire was flat.  Fortunately we were right next door to Les Schwab Tire place.  That cut into our visit withGlends and Tom.  Then we rushed down to Costco and blew through there.  Back up the hill to Nikki's.   We visited with Chad and looked at the house and yard.  We gathered up all our mail and packages which was a lot.  The a quick trip to Tom's for dinner.  Then a quick trip into the cesspool they call Walmart.  Finally at 8 we started up the hill back to Tahoe.
We got back about 9:15  and unloaded the truck.   Put everything away.
Today's sad news is that Larry Steve's brother died.  Which was bittersweet as he was truly suffering.

August 21, 2019 Tahoe Valley Campground, South Lake Tahoe, CA

It is almost 2 am and once again can't sleep.  We are going to see the kids tomorrow and Glenda.  Can't wait.   I forgot to write my daily record.  I have been mentally going through all the cupboards and eliminating things that we don't need.
We got up fairly early Steve more than me.  It is very freeing not to have the satelite antenna working.  We spend way too much time watching TV.   We ate breakfast and did our morning chores.   Steve and I got the rest of the setup done.  He was in a fucked up mood so we went to our separate spaces and I went in the back and set up shop. I remade 9 potholders that I wasn't happy with.  I mended some PJ bottoms.  The a dog walk and lunch.  The Steve talked to Robin and found out that Larry is very close to joining the Lord.  He is comatose and near end of days.  So we won't be going to visit.  Steve was moved to tears and I gave him a big hug.  Hate to see him so upset. We made a plan to go see Glenda,  do some shopping and get our packages from Nikki.  Not sure where we are going to put everything but we will have some fun opening everything.
I sewed most of the afternoon..  I finished 3 of the 4 block of the week blocks.  Will finish the last one tomorrow morning before we head out.
We BBQ'ed chicken tonight.  Then since there was no hallmark I sewed most if the night.  We spent about 45 minutes sitting by the fire and drinking our cafe mochas.
So that is all.  Still awake....

August 20, 2019 Tahoe Valley Campground, south Lake Tahoe CA

We left Ely this morning at about 7:15.  We drove 352 miles and strived here around 2:30.  Tahoe is nice and sunny.  Still lots of people.  We got set up.  On the other side of Austin the highway was literally covered with crickets.  They were huge.
We BBQ'ed hamburgers.  I am really tired as we got up 5:30.  We don't have satelite  for the week but they do cable which is not coming in very well.
It will be nice to see the kids this weekend.

August 19, 2019 Valley View RV Park , Ely NV

Nikki called to talk.  She sounded very happy.  Looks like we have the house sold which I know is bittersweet for Steve.  He is really attached to that house but it will take a lot of the financial pressure off him.
We got up early and I fixed Steve a huge biscuit and gravy and eggs.  We just hung out at the camp today. Last day here.  I did some cleaning.  Then Steve went outside to carve while I did some cutting.  Then we had lunch.  Watched lots of movies.
Tacos for dinner.  Steve is getting tired of Tacos.  Dishes after dinner then more TV and games.   Steve ordered the pieces we needed to fix the truck!

August 18, 2019 Valley View RV Park, Ely NV

We got up early Steve about 5:30 and me at 7.  We had breakfast then I but something in the crockpot for dinner.  Nade lunches.  Then we took off for the Great Basin National Park.   We made a small detour to see the Ward Charcoal ovens.  It was very interesting but took alot of wood to make enough charcoal for the silver smelters. Then back on the road to see the park. We took the road to see Mt. Wheeler.  We had lunch at the summit.   Then we went over to the caves or the visitor center.   We opted not to go to the caves.  Apparently the great basin covers almost the entire state of Nevada and crosses over into  California, Oregon, Idaho and Utah.
We got back to about 2.  I watched movies had dinner and did dishes. Steve and I shared some ideas about how to proceed if Nikki doesn't want to buy the house.  I forgot that the city bank payment was just made.  So Steve was having his monthly hormone fit.  The drama king was at it again.  He is upset so he does his number on me.  More TV after dinner. I have no idea how we are going to get through tomorrow.   There is very little to do here.  Not only is this place a slum but so is this whole town.  The most modern place is the Ridley's Market.

August 17, 2019 Valley View RV Park, Ely NV

We had a pretty quiet day today.  We got up rather early.  Breakfast and morning chores.  Then we went and checked out the town.  Went grocery shopping. Came back and unloaded the groceries.  Then lunch.  I decided I wasn't happy with some of the potholders so I sat on the bed and did some ripping out in preparation for fixing them.  I opted out o not to set up the sewing room and leave the bike in as we are sightseeing tomorrow and we would be picking it up on Monday so no point in doing all that work.  So I watched movies all afternoon and evening.  We went out for mediocre Chinese food which left us quite a bit of leftovers.
So not much to report.

August 16, 2019 Valley View RV Park, Ely NV

We today turned out to be more than we bargained for.  We got up really early about 6:30.  I got to potty about 6 then could not get back to sleep.  Once we got up and got started we were ready to hook up the truck  about 8:30.  Steve went out to warm up the truck and the batteries were dead.  He was told they would need to replaced but then the next service people said they were ok.  Anyway we called Good Sam Roadside Assistance.   Eventually someone came to give us a jump.  Steve ended up getting 2 new batteries and having them installed.  Finally about 1:15 we were hooked up and on our way.  We ate lunch as we were during along.  We traveled 153 miles to our next destination.  We arrived about 3 PM Pacific daylight time.  We gained an hour.  The place we are staying is a slum.  It is a combination trailer park and RV park.  We are only going to be here for 3 more days so we are not taking the bike out. Too much work for 1 day of sewing.  I have some other things I can do.
Dinner and a long walk with the dogs.  Then TV and games.

August 15, 2019 Antelope Valley RV Park, Delta UT

It is finally time to leave this burg. We got up about 8:30.  I did my Thursday jump in the scale day.  It was slightly down to 208.6.  So keep plugging awaywe had breakfast and chores.  Then we slowly buy surely got things picked up and put away to travel.  I decided to give the dogs a bath.  Hazel did her after bath blitz.  The afternoon dragged by. I decided to rework block no 3.  So rather than rip the old block up I cut all new pieces up.  Good thing we only have too more blocks to do as material choices are dwindling. Watched a couple of movies .  Then Steve and I went to the burger barn for dinner.  They were swamped and forgot my fries which was ok as I was too full anyway.   Then we washed the truck.  We stopped at Jubilee looking for drinks to no avail before dinner .  Then dollar general and finally quality groceries for popsicles  and hamburger.   Back to the rig for TV and games.

August 14, 2019 Antelope Valley RV Park, Delta UT

We are down to our final day in this place.  Got slot accomplished craft wise. I finished my potholders today.  I think I have worked out most of the kinks so the next time it should go a little easier.
Si rather than start a new project I decided to put everything away so that we could get things put away before it gets hot.
Anyway we  got up by 8.  Breakfast and chores.  I downloaded  and sewed block no.10.  Then finished the potholders.   Put away everything and then we BBQ'ed brats for dinner.
TV and games as usual.

August 13' 2019 Antelope Valley RV Park, Delta UT

Wow only two more days here at this place.  It has been a good place to rest and recoup from all the traveling. Packing up and unpacking every few days gets tiring. But it is also is very hot and boring here.  Ely won't be much different. Both ste e and I have gotten alot accomplished on our crafts.  By Thursday I hope to have all the potholders finished and block number 10.
For some reason I could not get to sleep last night.  I didn't fall asleep until almost 5.  Tossed and turned all night.  I was reading a really good book and could not put it down.  Anyway I slept into 9:30.  Breakfast and chores.  I the worked on my potholders which the binding went quite well.  Then I gathered up the laundry about 2 and did my last two loads. Prior to that Steve went on a very short motorcycle ride but it wasn't very fun.  And it is getting hotter by the day.  The laundry here is great.  1.00 to wash and same to dry.  Big machines.
I sat and finished the book.  It was really great.  She has really come to here own.  Lots of plot twists .  Some really unexpected.    We BBQ'ed hot dogs for dinners.  Steve went out and carved for awhile while I worked on the potholders.   Then TV and games to finish the night.
Note : Bertha McMurphree grew up in Delta UT

August 12, 2019 Antelope Valley RV Park, Delta UT

I thought we had the house sold but it doesn't look like Nikki is going to take it.  So we will uo the rent  and they can pay the utilities as well.  May we will up the asking price and put it on the market.
Another day down.  Three more to go. God this place is deserted and quiet as a tomb.  We got up around nine. Actually Steve got up after I did.  I got up at nine and he got up about 10 or 15 minutes later.
Breakfast and chores.  I sewed till about 1.  I got all the pot holders trimmed and quilted. At one I walked the dogs and ate a snack.  Then we decided to run a couple of errands in town.  When we came back I decided to do a couple of loads of laundry.   Steve said he was out of socks so I did whites and lights  Tomorrow I will finish up with two loads of coloreds.
I hope we get up earlier today.  After laundry then dinner and TV.  Definitely
Ssdd.  Did get some reading in.  Good book. Something a bit different for Sandra Brown.
It is sad when the highlight of the day is laundry.

August 11, 2019 Antelope Valley RV Park, Delta UT

Another day has passed.  The park has been deserted.   Not a creature is stirring.   This is a really boring park but the respite firm the hustle and bustle of traveling..
We both got up late again.  I woke up at 7:30 .  Steve was still asleep so I crawled back in bed and we both got up at nine.
I made bacon and eggs and biscuits for breakfast.   Dishes were done and chores.  I sat down to sew and was able to finish all the soup cozies.   Cozy total is 50. Then I started in on the potholders.   Steve never even got dressed today.
We BBQ'ed marinated chicken breasts.  Then more dishes and more dog walking .  Then TV and games.

Another day in Delta.  6days down and 5 to go.  We got up at 8:30. Had breakfast and did morning chores..  Then I started sewing and Steve was working on his alligator.   We had lunch about 1.  Then we went on our daily adventure.   We went to Firt Deseret  and then we we went to see the Great Stone face.  It is supposed to represent the face of Joseph Smith.  Let's just say you really had to use your imagination.   The off to the grocery store looking for drinks.  Back to the rig for  more sewing then dinner and dishes.  Then TV games and shower.   Another day is done.

August 9, 2019 Antelope Valley RV Park, Delta UT

I got up really late this morning. 9 am.  After breakfast and chores I finished  making block number 8. Then I started working on my soup cozies.  About 1 I decided to break for lunch. I decided to walk the dogs and watch 6 or 7 rigs come in and park. Then lunch.  Steve  decided to take us on an adventure.   We drove over to Gunnison Bend Reservoir  about 2 miles away.  Then he decided he wanted to check out Sevier Lake which is as salty as the Great Salt Lake and is reputed to be a remnant of Bonnevile Lake.  We drove down 50 about 30 miles to find the lake then decided it was time to turn around. We took a side road but had to turn around before we got stuck in the mud.  We then took the road to Sevier river.  Nothing there all dried up for the season.  We continued down the road another 16 miles and connected to highway 257.  We came back to the rig where I decided to make cookies. We had dirty rice for dinner which I find way too spicy.  Did the dishes.  We sat out by the fire for maybe 10 minutes then decided to walk the dos and take the garbage to the dumpster.  We checked out the laundry and walked the loop back to the house.
Finally time to retire for TV and games.

August 8, 2019 Antelope Valley RV Park, Delta UT

Well my youngest son is 35 years old today.  I didn't get much sleep last night.  Up about 8 and jumped on the scale.  Up again at 209.5.   We stopped at McDonald's for a breakfast sandwich.  No cafe mochas there. We left an hour later to go see the great salt lake.  The very stinky salt Lake.  It rained the whole way to Antelope State Park.  We took highway 6 to 36 through Tooele and then over to the park.  We are lunch in the parking lot of Ladyfinger campground.  Then off to see the Historic Gar Ranch.  We saw lots of buffalo and a few antelope.  We stopped at a walmrt to pick up supplies.  Then the long trek back.  We took  15 to 68 to 6.  We drove about 300 miles.  We were on the road about 8 hours.   We got back about 5 just in time for a huge wind storm with gusts up to 40 mph or there about. But I braved the storm to walk the dogs. Hazel still managed to poop but we all rushed back to the rig.
About 5:30 we all jumped in the truck to grab a burger at the burger barn.  I am so full.
Once we were done it was TV in bed.  Shower later.
