August 27, 2021 Turtle Rock RV Resort, Gold Beach OR

I woke up about a half hour before Steve. I made the coffee as I forgot to do so the night before.  We ate breakfast and Steve did some carving.  He stabbed himself and bled profusely.  We got that taken care. I was able to get some cutting done.  Our lunch ride came at 11:30 ish.  The kidnapped us.  The took us to their home and gave us the 50 cent tour.  Kurt is on the odd side.  He wears his hair long and blue nail polish.  He must do them himself as there were several bottles of polish on their dining room table.  Anyway we stayed at their house quite awhile.  Then over to the Porthole for a wonderful lunch which they insisted on paying for. Then back to their house.  The dogs enjoyed running all over.  We came back and they dropped us off. Stayed for a while.  Said they would be back about noon on Sunday to take us to Brookings for another meal.  I did some more cutting Steve carved.  We had lunch items for dinner.  Finally it was time for TV and cuddles with the dogs.

We walked across the street for breakfast at the Hiouchi Cafe.  It was OK.  back to the rig to dump and hook up.  We left around 10:30 for Gold Beach.  We drove to Brookings and hung out in the rest stop for an hour so that we would not get here too early.   It was only a 50 mile trip.  We gitvhere shortly before 1.  We did our set up chores.  For some reason Steve wanted the  bike out.  After setting up Steve was hot to go down to the Beach.  The dogs ran and played.  They couldn't wait to get off the leash.  We came back and decided to run down to South Jetty  to collect some driftwood.   Steve wanted to get some Myrtle wood and a saw.  Tony and Shelley called to say they contracted Covid so we won't be able to see them this trip.  On our way back we tested the park Mexican restaurant.   Tortugas.  It was less than best.  Finally we were on the way home.  We did contact the Mitchell's friends the Dammels . We have lunch with them tomorrow.   The Mitchell's already know.  Steve was out puttering with his driftwood when Hazel and I decided it was t

Ran over to Cartwright's and bought alot of pork. The back to hook up the camper and we were on the way.  We couldn't check in till 1 and when they say 1 here they mean it. We got here at 12:53 and had to wait till the office opened at 1.  We got set up and were waiting for Haley to come .  But of course she texted at the last minute to let us know that her whole family had Covid and she was going to get tested today.  Pretty good evasion.  I made stuffed pork chops with gravy for dinner.  Steve like the gravy amazingly.   Dishes and finally it was time for TV and cuddles with the dogs.   Steve worked himself into a snit because he thought we should take a workkamper job in Delores Co. August 10, 2021 Neskowin Creek RV Resort, Neskowin 0R

Wow what a day we have had.  Steve left early and went to Newport to have the truck serviced.  I got up later and did our morning routine.  Then I stripped the bed in preparation for the repair job.  Which should have only taken about a half an hour.  Steve came home and we got right to work. We took the motorcycle out.   Steve went to get the tools out of the hatch only to discover water had leaked into the hatch.  So everything  had to come out so Steve could tighten all the connections.   Fortunately that seems to have taken care  of the problem.  Then we struggled with the bed.  We had trouble getting the board raisers back on correctly.   Finally the bed was done and remade with clean linen.   We decided all our hard work merited a dinner out. It was going to be a hamburger until Steve decided fish and chips sounded a whole lot better. We decided to go to Moes in the historic district.  Once we got there we found out there was a 2 hour wait.  Back in the car in search of a good burger.  We found this fish and chips place near Safeway.  It was wonderful food.  The service could be better but the food was out of the world.  Then home for some TV and cuddles with the dogs.

Well my youngest son is 37 today.  How time flies.  We are headed out tomorrow for the Oregon Coast. The slide continues to give us fits.  We got up about 8.  I crawled in bed at 7:30 as it was rather chilly in the main cabin. We mostly picked up and put things away today.  I did get some sewing done cutting actually but starting and stopping to assist was making me nervous.  Finally I gave up and put everything away.  I watched a movie then we fooled around with the slide.  We had yesterday's leftovers for dinner.  Finally after dishes it was time for TV and cuddles with the dogs once they decided to come up and settle down.

Then we stopped in Morton to get gas and groceries.  Back to the rig where I got some sewing done and Steve looked at the slide but was unsuccessful in solving any issues.  We ate leftovers for dinner.  Dishes and finally it was time for TV and cuddles with the dogs.

I hope he works out the stuff for his Dad.  Ed is drinking himself to death.  We got up and got breakfast going. Bisquits and gravy. Bacon and eggs.  He left on a full stomach.  Then I tried to sew but I got conscripted into washing the screens.  We washed all the windows inside. All the screens.  Steve washed the exterior of the rig and the truck twice. I did get some cutting done. Then I went out to  walk the dogs. I saw some guy picking blackberries and went over to check them out. The guy told me take my yapping dog somewhere else.  I thought he was kidding but after  he said that he turned to me and  he was dead serious.  Of  course that pissed us both off.  We did find a bunch of blackberries to pick.  Then leftovers for dinner.  Dishes and it was time for TV and cuddles with the dogs.

August 1. 2021 Maple Grove Resort, Randle WA

We got up fairly early. Steve was anxious to get up and out. We were both worried whether we would get the bedroom slide closed.  Then he went to the office to pick up our cinnamon rolls. He brought back 8 ginormous rolls.  One per container.  We took off and drove about 300 miles.  The GPS wanted us to go around thru Seattle so after much debate we decided to take Hwy 12.  I guess there was a low bridge on  the hwy 12.  It was ok. It saved us about an hour.  It is also hot here.  We got here about 3:30 and got set up.  We had left overs for dinner.   Dishes and it was time for TV and cuddles with the dogs. Steve opted for 30 amp and sewer.  We got to pick our own site.
