April 30, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

Another lovely day at the Campground.   Got up at 8:15 .  Breakfast and chores.  Sat down to saw and Steve found out that the tires were in.  Of course he wanted to take it in today.  I had just started sewing.  But when he called he set the appointment up for Tuesday.  Apparently he can't go by himself.   So I will be going with him. Where I am going to sit for 2 hours is a mystery but we will have to see what happens.  Then we talked about plans to leave on the 9th and it seems doable.  We will try to find a place to squat where it is cooler.  We have been in Arizona almost 6 months.  Our morning run to the dog park and neighborhood  ride.  Lunch some reading and then down to Sandy's for beading with Cathy Benton.   The guys went to Wickenburg to Big O tires . Another value stem down the tubes.  When Alan returned I came home and we had leftover Boboli pizza for dinner. 
Then yet another Teryx ride.  Then up to the bedroom for TV and cuddles.

April 29, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

Well another busy day here.  I got up at 7:30.  It was already hot.  Steve started to go through the freezer looking for pancakes or waffles.  So I volunteered to make some.  We ate ours and the I remembered that Alan was missing his pancake delivery. I made more pancakes and took them along with syrup.    I texted and finally called. Alan was at the laundry and hung up on me trying to answer the phone.   So  I sent Steve down there with 5 huge pancakes.  Then I cleaned up that mess.  By the it was 10:30.  So I sat and read for awhile.  We did our Teryx ride.  At one we went down to Sandy's.   I left about 3:30.  Back at the rig I took a short siesta.   Then started dinner . It was the wrong dinner for the hot weather but I survived.  We ate outside which was wonderful.  I guess we are indeed leaving on the 9th and hopefully going somewhere cooler for a week. 

The we spent time around the fire.  Finally dishes and clean up.   Then TV and cuddles. 

April 28, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

Another day.  Same stuff different day as they say.  We got up before 8 today.  Breakfast and chores.  I sewed for awhile. Then I did some reading.  Trip to the dog park.  Steve washed the Teryx and motorcycle.   Then the dogs and I went to beading at Sandy's.   Both dogs were really good.  Sandy was working on a really tough bracelet project.  I am almost finished with my necklace bracelet and earrings.   Then back to the rig for relaxation and reading.  We had dinner and watched game shows. Dishes were done.  A run to the garbage and dog park.  Steve ran a sign down near the garbage bins which we fessed up to with the park host.  The dogs got their teeth brushed.  Finally  time for TV and cuddles. 

April 27, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

Well we talked to Morryde today.  We are on the list in case there is a cancellation but it looks like June 1st is our date.  So we will leave here around the 20th of May and head straight back to Elkhart for the repair.  Steve called and he still has his May 5th dentist appointment. 
We slept in late 8:30.  We got up and had breakfast  and did chores.  Then we loaded up the dogs about 10 :30.  It was already 92 degrees. We  stopped at the hardware store the post office gas station Safeway and finally the post office again  to mail the package we were supposed to mail the first time.  Then back to the house.  Unloaded the groceries.   Took Sandy her groceries.  And beaded for awhile.   Then I drove Sandy around the park looking for blooming plants.  Finally the dog park.  Back to the house for lounging and dinner.  Then the usual TV and cuddles.

April 26, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

We had a very relaxing day.  We got up and got ready for company.   Sandy and Alan came over for biscuits and gravy.   They walked in and breakfast was ready.  They stayed for about an hour.  They went home and I cleaned up. Sandy asked me if I wanted to take a break from our beading session.  Which I did.  We both needed a break.  Sandy had some business things to take care of which I found out later.Then I started reading a really good book by David Baldacci.   I read til 2 then decided to sew. I did one row then decided to quit because it was too hot in the back.  We left our fan at POS.  Then I watched a movie.  Really hot in the bedroom.   Oh I should mention Steve was carving in the main cabin.  He turned the tv to music .  It was wonderful.  Then we did a Teryx ride and more reading.  Then pizza for dinner .  Boboli pizza.  Sandy paid us a visit as she found me some elastic.  Finally TV and cuddles. 
Tomorrow we will call Morryde and finally make some kind of decision about what are next move will be.

April 25, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

Another day in our little confined paradise.  We got up at 7:45.  Breakfast and chores.  I wanted to get a jump on sewing but I only got one row sewed and a mask for Steve.  Then our daily Teryx ride and stop at the dog park.  Lunch then down to Sandy's for a beading session. Kind of had the blahs today.  Getting hotter by the  day.  I left beading early.  Cane home and made Mama's chicken roll ups.  Took the dogs for a walk and then Sandy and Alan came by for a fire and chit chat. 
I think we are all about ready to climb the walls  but we are too afraid to show it.  I want to leave here but I really don't feel safe doing it. 

April 24, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

Today started out with a bang.  Steve must have the Teryx service on his mind because he had a rough time sleeping.  I got up early  had breakfast and prepared the laundrry.   Good thing I got there early cause everyone decided to do  laundry today.  Steve threw a hissy fit because he couldn't go back to sleep.  I was making too much noise.  Like he never makes a sound when he moves around.  When I pointed that out he just popped a gasket.  I went over to start the laundry.   He walked the dogs.  He then left on a motorcycle ride without so much as a by your leave. I continued to do all the laundry  and all the chores.  Had lunch. Read my book.  Binged on the coffee nut m and men's.  Took the dogs to the dog park .  At one I was just getting ready to drive the truck to Sandy's so we could go play with Cathy Benton.  Fortunately  she canceled at the last minute since  the Teryx is out of gas.  Anyway by the time I got back at 4  he was in a better frame of mind.  Thank God.   I think all this covid 19 quarantine finally is getting to us all.  The inability to plan any travel  and know that we can have a place to stay is getting to us all.  Thank God for Sandy and Alan. 
At 6 we went down there for dinner and his attitude was much better.  We had a very nice dinner . Tortellini soup was good but did have a bite to it. Dessert  was wonderful.   We will share the balance tomorrow around the fire.  Something to look forward to.  We were there a couple of hours then back for TV and cuddles. 
Temps are rising.  Close to 100 next week.

April 23, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

Time though it moves slowly  continues to move .  Still not sure what our plans are. I got about 7:30.  Breakfast then I got busy making cookies.  Even before I got dressed.   I sandwiched the chores in between baking the cookies.   Sandy wanted to go play with Cathy Benton.  We moved lunch up to 11:30 at Nichols West.  I was not impressed with my salad.  Won't order that again.   After lunch we didn't go to Cathy's so we beaded at Sandy's.  I worked on the amulet bag for Betty.  I left around 4 as the dogs were getting antsy.  It was too windy to go to the dog park.   I read for awhile.  Then I fixed fried egg sandwiches for lunch.  Then we took a twilight Teryx ride.  Then dishes.  Finally TV and cuddles. 

April 22, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

Another day in Congress.  Repeat, ditto.
Got up at 7:30. Breakfast and chores. I cooked chicken  for roll ups but we had left over tacos. I called and canceled all of our reservations for our trip east.  Kaiser mailed some of  Steve's meds to Coarsegold.  So we won't leave until at least the 20th of May so we will be here when they arrive from mail forwarding. . At 10 I went over to Alan and Sandy's and Alan cut my hair.  He really did a good job overall.   He was afraid to cut it too short but said he would cut more later. Back to the house for a Teryx ride and a stop over at the dog park. After lunch we headed over to Sandy's for beading.  I finished my  bracelet.  The wind came up and we stayed inside and fixed dinner.   Then TV cuddles and may read for awhile.

April 21, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

Well today was a busy day.  It started out very early.   Up at 6:45.  Breakfast and chores.  Sitting on Alan's truck step at 8.  Then off to our first stop at the Hardware store.   The drug store wasn't open yet so we headed over to Safeway where I spent a small fortune on groceries.   We were back and un loaded by 10:30.  We had lunch then at 1 we headed to Sandy's for beading.  We quit just before 4 to go to the dog park. I feel bad leaving Steve down here but himself but he sits and carves here. I wish Alan would come down here to carve with Steve more.  A quick trip to the dog park.  Then I came back to finish Andy Carpenter book number six.  Then I got everything ready for Taco Tuesday with the Clark's.   They left at 8:15 and it was time for TV and cuddles.

April 20, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

Today was kind of different. I got up about 8:15.  Breakfast and chores.   Then Steve got up and did the dishes! I made the bed .  About 10 I  finally got to work on the sashing on my quilt.  I got two rows finished.  We took the dogs to the dog park.  Steve was out early carving.  We had lunch.  Sandy called earlier and we made plans to go dotting at Kathy Benton's at one.  I picked her up in the Teryx and off we went.  We sat underneath her sun deck.  We had fun and made necklaces.  Then back to the rig.  Steve and I made a run to the dog park.  Short ride.  Dinner and dishes.  TV  and cuddles. 
Steve has told me to cancel our reservations for the Cottonwood Thousand Trails for May 7th. 

April 19, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

Hopefully I have convinced Steve to put off our departure date.  I sure am uncomfortable moving around the country in all this mayhem. 
I got up at 8 and had breakfast and did chores.  I frosted the cake for tonight's dinner. Then Steve and I  took the Teryx out the back and drove the trails for about an hour.  Somehow we were able find our way back.  Then we had lunch and then it was time to go to Sandy's for beading. We beaded until about 4 then our daily  trip to the dog park.   Came back and at it was time to go to Sandy's for dinner.  We stayed there until about 8.  Home for TV and cuddles. 

April 18, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

April is just flying by.  It is already the 19th!  We got up about 7:30.  The usual morning chores.  I finished my book Andy Carpenter book number 5.  I am so glad Sandy turned me on to these books.  They just get better and better.  Then I started cutting the sashing for my quilt.  Steve wanted to take a Teryx ride with a stop at the dog park.  We stopped and talked to our xcapper neighbors 2 doors down.  Turns out they were in Mexico with the Fruths.  Jess and Jenn.  We had lunch then off to Sandy's fir beading.  Betty called and talked for quite awhile.  She is becoming a regular Betty Crocker.  Headed over to the dog park.   We were alone there except for Otis a corgi Australian shepherd mix.  Back at the rig I decided to bake the cake for tomorrow 's dinner.  Not sure how it will taste.   Just needs frosting.   We BBQ'ed hot dogs and I sauteed some veggies.  Then dishes and TV with ice cream and cuddles.

April 17, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

Well we can cross this day off the tally.  I got up at 8:30. Had breakfast.   Did chores.  Played games on my phone.  At 11 I decided to sew for awhile but Steve wanted to take a Teryx ride.   Then when we came back I was ready to sew but instead Steve wanted me to call Barb Ely.   We had a nice long chat as I knew we would.  Then it was time for lunch and some reading.  Sophie was freaking out because of the wind.  She started in about quarter to one.  At one we went to Sandy's to bead.  I came back at 4 to make our dog park run.  If course the capers decided to take their happy hour at the same time.  We did a short tour of the park.  Then I went home.  We ordered pizza from a place in Yarnell.   Turns out they deliver to North Ranch.  The pizza got here at about 6:1 . It was pretty good.  A little spicy.  And pretty expensive.  Anyway we chatted for awhile then back to the rig for TV and cuddles.

April 16, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

It has finally warmed up.  We have given up the idea of buying a house here.  The house is great but the area is not what we want.  Besides I want to go to Fiesta Grande in the winter.  We were back in our normal routine today.  Up between 7:30 and 8.  Breakfast and chores.   Sine reading and a little sewing.  Steve cleaned the BBQ.   At 12:30 I tried to walk the dogs but Steve followed me to the dog park and picked me up in the Teryx.  We then had lunch and our usual beading afternoon session.  Steve and Alan carved. At 4 Sandy and I made our trip to the dog park.  We were the only ones there.  That was a surorise.  Bach home for dinner dishes and TV with cuddles.

April 15, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

Another day of quarantine has passed. I got up at 8 and did breakfast]  and chores.  Took the garbage out and did a little cleaning In the bathroom.  I finally  got to sit down and work in the sewing room.  I started reading.  We took a Teryx ride and stopped at the dog park and garbage bin.  At 1:30 I walked down to Sandy's for beading. I finished a bracelet and started another one.  At 4 I went home and got started with dinner.  Sandy and Alan  came over and we had a lovely dinner.   We sat outside and had a fire and dessert.   Then TV and  cuddles.

April 14, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

We are about three weeks out before we have to determine our next move.  Despite the situation we have been having fun here thanks to Sandy and Alan.  I have very much enjoyed getting to know them. I will miss our time here. 
We got up and did chores and breakfasted.   We got ready to meet the owner of the house on Wandering.   Steve really liked the garage and out buildings.   I liked the house for the most part. We have to decide if we want to travel or be burdened with a house payment.   We took Sandy with us.  When we got back we jumped in Alan's truck and headed out to lunch.  We stopped at the dollar store.  Then a nice lunch on  the Nichols West patio.  A real restaurant experience.  A quick stop at the post office  then back to the rig.  Steve took us to the dog park and dropped me at Sandy's for crafting.   Sophie has been a basket case for the last couple of days. Steve made arrangements to see another house but it did not have as many amenities.   Sandy went with us.  Finally  back to the rig for BBQ'ed chicken dinner.  Dishes and then TV and cuddles. 

April 13, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

Well here we are.   In Congress.  Thank goodness we have Sandy and Alan for Company. I got up at 7:30.  Steve had the fireplace going most of the night. I had to open the window so I wouldn't melt.  After breakfast I decided that after chores i would vaccum and mop the floors.  Steve went over to the activity center and painted the floor of the Teryx trailer.   Once the floors were dry I  made lunch.   Then a Teryx ride to the dog park.  Steve made an appointment to tour the house on Wandering way.  We talked to a lady in the dog park Marla who has two rat terriers  and who has lived on Wandering Way for 24 years.  I think I am going to like the house but I just don't want to live here at North Ranch.   At 1:30 we traipsed down to Sandy's for a beading session.  At 4 we did a dog run and I took Sandy to show her the backyard of the house on Wandering.   We sat and chatted at the dog park then I took Sandy home.  Dinner, talked to Dan and finally TV and cuddles.

April 12, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

Today was Easter 2020. I got up late 8:30.  We hung around the house.  Steve was painting his Indian and totally in the way.  I gathered the laundry  and about 11 went over to the laundry and was able to get the laundry done solo.  Sandy came by and helped me get them in the Teryx.  Steve and I folded them . Sandy came over to get some sugar.  We took the dogs to the dog park and did our Teryx ride.  We picked up the sheet from the house we are interested in so that we could see inside. Back at the rig I gathered up the things we need for dinner.  Down to Sandy's for a nice visit. Back to the house to finish my book and finally dinner at Sandy's where we BBQ steaks and I made a wonderful dessert that we will be eating for quite awhile.   We were there two hours and came home for TV and cuddles. 
We talked to Betty the other day.  I am going to have to watch that one.  She can be very manipulative.   I like Sandy much better.  So much easier to be around her. 

April 11, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

Another productive day.  Got up super early-- just before 7.  Breakfast  then hightailed over to the laundromat to do  sheets and towels and the whites.  Steve

threw a fit.  So when I told him the rest would be done Sunday or Monday.   He said I could take Easter off.  Any I was done with the laundry by 10.  We could only go in the laundry one at a time and no folding in the laundry.  Once the laundry was done I made the dessert for tomorrow's dinner.  A quick trip to the dog park.  I finished the dessert and took it down to Sandy's.   Then we had lunch.  At 1:30 I went down to Sandy's.   We called Betty and chatted quite awhile with her.  She sounded kind of down.  We beaded til 4 then our afternoon ride to the dog park.  We met Echo and chatted with her owner..  we had left over pork ribs which were extremely stringy and tough.    Finally   it was TV  and cuddles. 
It is so hard  because we are not able to make plans.  We don't know if we will be able to find campsites  on the way back east.

April 10, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

Well today was a very productive day.  The dogs started to really smell bad so they got baths today.  The sheets got changed.  I got up about 7:30.  Breakfast and chores.  Attached the label to the quilt for Hudson.  Prepared it for mailing.  Took our ride to the  dog park.   We had a quick lunch then headed out to do errands.  Steve wanted some stuff at the Hardware store. Then we hit Safeway.  One way aisles  and  limited lines.  Then to  the post office to mail my package and pick up our mail from POS.  Back at the rig we put the groceries away.  Then I made a visit to Sandy's for a quick visit.   Hazel got sick she must have eaten something that disagreed with her.  Sandy and I rode over to the dog park and the dog park hoggers were there.  Back to the rig to prepare dinner.  We had hamburger Strognanoff and BBQ'ed veggie kabobs.  Steve started a grease fire in the BBQ.   Sandy and Alan joined us for dinner .  We chatted til 8:30 then our normal nighttime routine.   TV and cuddles. 

April 9, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

We renewed our spot for another month.  We got up leisurely as we didn't have a plan to go anywhere early.  I ate breakfast and did my chores. We lounged around and I read my book.  About 10:30 I took the dods for a walk.   Then we had grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch.   We took our daily Teryx ride. Then we tangled with the Fiesta Grande office and their messed up bookkeeping.   Then over to Sandy's where I finished my quilt.  At 4 ish we took the dogs  to the dog park.  We weren't there very long when the dog park filled up with big dogs.  So we exited.  I drove Sandy around and showed her my latest find.  Easter decorations on Fort Apache.  Back at the Ranch I read for awhile  then fixed the leftover spaghetti for dinner.  The the usual TV and cuddles.

April 8, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

Another day in paradise. We hit the one month mark.   The weather was kind of funky. It started out sunny but ended up overcast.  Our moods matched the day.  I had no ambition.   I decided to spend the day reading.  Steve was in a foul mood.  He went and got propane and was trying to pick a fight.  Suddenly he got up and moved things off my sewing table and proceeded to start burning on his indian.  That was a first.  I didn't say a word.  I continued to read my book which was my plan any way. In a couple of hours we decided to take a Teryx ride.   When he came back he was willing to move but I told him to go ahead as I wasn't planning on sewing.  We went over to the Clark's for our weekly take out at Nichols West.   We all 4 had fish and  chips. We ate at Sandy's then went home.  More reading for me until about 4 when Sandy and I took them to the dog park.  It was cold so it was a quick trip . Back to the rig where I finally finished my book.  I doubt I will  be reading more by this author.   The plot and characters were not really believable.   Then a dinner of bacon  and eggs.  Dishes and TV. Worked on my quilt. Finally cuddles.

April 7, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

Another day in Paradise.   Got up at the crack of dawn to go to the grocery store with Alan and Sandy.  We were back by 9 :30.  Put everything away.  Wiped everything down.  Then I tried to put the binding on the Cowboy quilt.   Sophie would not leave me alone. Then off to the dog park and the daily ride in the park.  Came back for lunch and a finish off on the quilt.  Steve carved off and on.  His indian is turning out wonderful.   I went down to Sandy's for craft time.  Sandy could not go to the dog park as she was cooking.  So Steve and I took them but the dog park hogs were there. We took a short  ride and I ended up walking them home from the dog park.  Dinner at Sandy's.  Chicken and  rice casserole  carrots and a salad mix.  Delish.  My allergies were bothering me as well as Alan's so we bypassed on the fire.  We will wait till the up coming rain passes and have one then.  Normal routine of TV and cuddles. 
Another day down.  Steve still wants to go east despite the pandemic.   Hope he wises up. 

April 6, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

Another quarantine day down.  Time marches on.  Got up and we had leftover waffles for breakfast.   Then chores.  I worked on my quilt.   Then the Teryx ride to the dog park. Lunch and dow to Sandy's.   It was 4 pm before you know it.  Another trip to the dog park.  We BBQ'ed ribs for dinner.  Dishes, TV and cuddles.  Things are getting real routine around here. 

April 5, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

Well another day if quarantine down.  Up at about 7:30.  Breakfast chores then a Safeway run.  Same items depleted.  I was planning on having the Clark's for dinner which was going to be hamburger Strognanoff.  Steve was not up for it. So we had fried egg sandwiches. Grabbed a few items but going Tuesday for the big run.  I came home and sewed for awhile.   Teryx ride.  We looked at another house which I really lived but I don't  get the home vibe here in this park.  This is not where I want to spend my end of days.   Then lunch and Sophie  reminded me it was time to go see Sandy. I beaded today while Sandy did a myriad of different things.  Hopefully we are safe to interact .  I would be devastated if we didn't have our afternoon crafts sessions.   Then at 4 we masked up and did our afternoon dog park run and Teryx  run.  Came back for dinner and TV and cuddles.  Steve carved most of the day.  He is working hard on hidms courage store indian.

April 4, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

And yet another day of quarantine is over.  It went rather well.   Got up about 7 and eased into the morning.   I made cookies .  That  took me until about 11.  While the cookies were baking I was able to take care if my normal chores and get some reading done.  At 11:30 we took the dogs to the dog park.  Then we drive around the park as usual.  Steve found a house that he like and we called the agent to get a price.  What a shock that was.  No idea Steve was even in the market.   Came back for lunch.  Then Alan and I traded places .  He came and carved with Steve and I colored with Sandy.  We made our dog run then we each went our separate ways.  I finally finished my book.   Loved it.  We BBQ'ed chicken thighs for dinner.  Dishes and finally TV and cuddles. 

April 3, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

Today was hard.  The sheltering in place is wearing thin.  Kind of depressing.   The fact that I didn't get to sleep until 1:30 because I was determined to finish my book probably didn't help.  Up around 7:30. Breakfast and chores.  Sent Steve on errands on the motorcycle.   I started quilting the Cowboy quilt.   I made Becky's mask.  We had lunch. Took a Teryx  ride to the dog park then around the park.   Steve took a ride to mail the mask.  I crafted with Sandy made a bracelet for Colleen.
We took the dog to the dog park and another ride around the park.  Read some and had dinner. Sandy and Alan came over for fireside chat.  The TV and cuddles. 
Allergies are bad. We still have not been here a whole month.

April 2, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

Well we made it to April and we are two days in.  We still have not been here a month.  Three weeks today!
We got up about 7:30 ! We got ready to host Sandy and Alan for a waffle breakfast.  It turned out really well.  Then Sandy and I sprayed the Cowboy quilt in the bedroom. They went home about 11:30.  Then I finished marking the quilt lines on the quilt.  Sophie helped by jumping on the quilt and refusing to move.  We took the dogs to the dog park and took a short ride.  Then Steve drove me to Sandy's for coloring.   Sandy worked on rocks.  About 3:30 Sandy  and I walked to the dog park.  Alan and Steve went to John Ely 'a house to use his shop .  They were there till 4:30.  I went home from Sandy's and read for an hour.  I fixed dinner left over spaghetti.   I found out that Steve committed me to making masks for the girls after I told him no.  Ugh.  There was dishes and a multitude of phone calls.  Finally it was time for TV and cuddles.

 

April 1, 2020 Escapees North Ranch, Congress AZ

It's still March.  April fools.   April finally arrived.  It was a beautiful day.  I got up about 8 since Steve thought I should get up.  Steve wanted bacon and eggs so that is what he got.  I cleaned up the mess and did the rest of my chores.  I finished the dog's sweaters.  Sandy was doing laundry.  Steve and I took our daily Teryx ride  with the dogs.  Sandy texted me to join her for crafts.  So I did.  The park passes out new rules for the covid 19 quarantine rules.  At 4 I came home to grab the Teryx to take the dogs to the dog park.  We had chicken cordon bleu.  Dishes then TV again.  We checked on all the kids. They are all fine including the grandkids. Steve thinks the girls need masks.   Stephanie I am sure can make them just fine.
