We spent the day doing dog chores. We got up at normal time. Did our chores and loaded the dogs in the trucks. Off to get their nails clipped. Then came back to the vets. We arrived there at 10:30. Filled out the paperwork and were shown into a room. The vet came in with donuts and offers of coffee. Apparently they were running behind. The took the screamer Sophie first. They tested for heartworm and gave them heartworm shot good for six months. We also got some meds for Hazel's ears. With the meds it came to almost $500.00. But since I got the meds from them and if memory serves me the cost was similar to what I would have paid to California Pet Meds. I won't have to send in scripts and worry about where to send the meds.
Once we got over the shock of the bill we came back for lunch.
I sewed for awhile then we decided to do our daily run to the dog park. Then dinner and dishes. TV and games to follow.

Well it was not a good day. Steve started the day pissed off and remains that way. He is just waiting for me to look at him crosswise we started with the phone call to the vets to get their heartworm tests. I did manage to find it for a cheaper price. It is scheduled for tomorrow. Then he called to update out insurance and found out that was going to cost us more than what we are currently paying due to our blowout claim. He hasn't changed out of his night clothes. His clothes are sitting in the bathroom waiting for him to take a shower. He has been snarling all day. I sewed and read off and on. It is going to take me awhile to get all those blocks done. We ate lunch and took the dogs to the dog park.
It has been windy but humid all day.
We had dinner and sat outside for awhile . Another walk with the dogs, dishes and TV. Too much fun for one day.

We are just about to begin the 5th month of 2019. It sure has gone by fast looking back but right now things have slowed down to a snail's pace. Waiting for parts again.
I got up at 8 and we had a normal morning routine. Steve decided to go for a motorcycle ride while I "played" Laundry. They had lots of machines but as seems normal with escapees 2 washers out of 8 and 2 dryers out of eight were not working. It seems like Sunday morning is the time to do wash. It was a very busy place. A gentleman from North Carolina helped me get the laundry baskets inside. Anyway from 9:30 to 12:30 I did laundry. Came back and unloaded and out everything away. Had lunch and read for bit. I got two blocks made and piddled in the sewing room till 4 when we went to the dog park. We found out that they do indeed have an ice cream social at 6 PM on Sundays. So about 4:45 we hurried home and home to throw dinner on the grill. We scarfed it down and hurried over to the Activity Center for the ice cream. We saw a couple of familiar faces. Then back to the rig to set outside in the last hours of sunshine. We said good bye to our neighbors Loretta and Mike who incidentally is going to Kyle Thompson to have their rig inspected. Came in and Steve watched me wash the dishes. Then TV, games and later reading and shower.

We had a very laid back day. We got up around 7:30 and went to breakfast at the care center. The food was less than best. I don't think we will go back. The pancakes were OK but we had to fight for the syrup. The eggs were runny. When we came back to the trailer we put up the vista shade. Then Steve took off on a motorcycle ride. I started sewing on my disappearing four patch project. Unfortunately the wind came up and I had to climb up on the step stool and took the vista shade down all by myself. Steve cut his ride short when he noticed the wind coming up. But when he rode up the awnings were up and the vista shade was semi folded on the table waiting for him.
I sewed for the rest of the day. About 4 we drove over to the dog run. We sat and chatted for almost an hour. Steve then decided that we would go out for dinner. We did a drive by at the trailer. I grabbed my purse and off we went. We had dinner at Le Blancs Cajun Kitchen. Steve was brave and tried something spicy. I was not so brave. Then we drove around some on our way back to the trailer. Then it was time for feeding the dogs and getting ready for TV and games.

Well this day was a surprise. As the leaf Springs turn.
Early this morning Sophie was freaking out about something. She pestered both Steve and I by climbing all over our heads and going around and around til at 6 am I took them both out.
We were getting the truck weighed then hitting the road to Mississippi . I quickly changed our reservation from Catfish Haven in St.Martinsville Louisana to Riverview in Vidalia due to weather concerns. which I did while we were getting weighed. So we found a big problem while getting weighed. The new leaf springs we put on were too heavy duty. And there is also a problem with the shackles. We were 1500 pounds over weight.
So off to the office we went to extend our stay. Here in Livingston. We have a new spot . Unfortunately we have no shade but we do have 50 am service so we can run the air constantly. Once we unhitched and got mostly set up we took a ride over to an actual trailer mechanic. He will order the correct Springs and Steve ordered the correct shackles. So we are back to square one.
We came back ate lunch and both of us took a long nap.
It was too hot in the back to sew so we just hung out in the trailer watched TV. We had left over taco meat in our tacos.
Then TV and games and a shower later. We will be here at least another 2 weeks so we will have cancel all the reservations we made until the one at Space Coast beginning.May 17th. We will try to leave here around the 10th and just dead head to Florida. Never a dull moment on this trip. I just thank the Lord we were already set up in a nice park and they had room for us. Were weren't stuck on the side of the road in bad weather. Now we will have a chance to possible get together with Steve's friend Kathy Keene. Also there will be more time to sew since we won't be moving from place to place and I could see Steve was thinking about not taking the bike out for quite some time. And really if we are somewhere for 2 or 3 days it is hardly worth the effort of taking the bike out. I guess we are getting jaded as we are not as energetic about doing excess set up and take down..

I slept in until just about 9 today. Then I got up and got on the dreaded scale. I basically stayed the same at 204.9. Then I decided to take the dogs to the dog park. Back for breakfast. Then we packed the dogs into the truck and took off for Lake Livingston State Park. We took a tour of the park and checked out the campground which was very nice. Then we decided to check out what we missed at Lake Conroe. It is really a premier park. We had lunch in their new cafeteria at the activity center. It was about 60 miles to Lake Conroe. We checked out the sites their. Back to Livibgston. We got fuel for the truck then we stopped at Walmart for groceries. This store had only cherry lemonade. Apparently everyone drinks these things in Texas and they can't keep them in stock. We put the groceries away then took the dogs to the dog park. Then dinner TV and hopefully get some reading in.

We finally hit the road on a wing and a prayer. We left about 8 but leaving Lake Medina where we spent 20 days eleven of which were unplanned early only meant we hit morning traffic in San Antonio. We got out if that mess about 9:30. We decided that we would stay at Rainbows end for 2 days and postpone Catfish Haven until Friday.
When we left Medina Lake it was pouring rain. It rained so hard we could hardly see the vehicle in front of us. The first light we came to on Hwy 16 Steve couldn't stop as the roads were very slippery and wet. He ended up going through a red light. We stopped at a rest stop outside of San Antonio and had a potty break for us and the dogs. We stopped at a Buc ee's for gas.
This where Steve really pissed me off. He wouldn't find a parking spot there and I really had to go potty when we stopped for gas but it was almost an hour and a half later when we stopped at the Willis Post Office where we picked up our South Dakota plates!. Then we took back roads to Livingston
Love this area and the park. Lots of green grass. Much nicer than Medina and cooler. We arrived here about 4 and took the dogs straight to the dog park. Then we st up the trailer and I fixed stuffed peppers. After dinner we took a tour of the park. Steve checked out the Smart Weigh and we saw the Escapees Headquarters.
We decided to make an ice cream run. We bought some pints and split them up. They were yummy.
We traveled about 335 miles. The Tire minder went off but I think the sensor is bad because the tire seemed fine. Another scare.
The trailer seem to travel OK with the new springs. The trailer sits up much higher. I will have to get used to the new look.
Dishes got done then TV, shower, and reading.

We had a very stressful day. We were up by 7. Oscar got here by 10. They changed out the tire and checked the brakes first. Then once he went home and put the tire on the spare rim he came back and installed it. I was able to finish a book in between Steve talking to me and answering Betty 's texts. Then he installed the leaf Springs. It went quickly. Unfortunately he could not get one of the equiflexes to seat right . After several hours and a couple of rest drives it slipped into place. It was cloudy all day. Fortunately the rain held off till the last hour of the repair. Fortunately he had an easy up to prevent him getting too wet.
The dogs were basket cases by the end of the day as was I. He finally left around 6:30. I wasn't even hungry nor was Steve by then. So we had fried egg sandwiches. We left the rig hooked up so we won't have much left to do in the morning.
Good news is that Steve contacted the credit card company and they gave us a "conditional credit " for the work we had done in Casa Grande. So we will see what happens there. At least part of the cost is covered.
So we will make another attempt to leave in the morning. We need a break from all this stress..

Today's good news is that all the parts for the trailer springs have arrived the bad news is that there is rain in the forecast. Oscar will do the job by himself. The motorcycle is in the back and we are more than ready to continue our adventure. I stayed up late last night so I could finish Robert Dugoni's latest novel the Eighth sister. So I slept in until after 8. We had breakfast then I sputtered around the house till I figured out Steve's plan for the day. I decided to make chocolate chip toffee cookies. I diminished those about 1 PM. We then jumped into the car and stopped for my first visit to The Dollar General store. It is like a mini super Walmart. The have groceries mostly off brands at somewhat reduced prices. Nothing is a dollar. Not like the dollar tree.
Then we decided to have lunch and try out Bob's Burger Barn. So we were eating lunch at 2:30. After lunch we drove to Pipe Creek to the post office. Back to the rig. I squared the blocks for the disappearing 4 patch quilt. Then put everything away so we could load the motorcycle. Once that was done I read some, a David Baldacci novel. Then walked the dog and sat outside and talked to our new neighbor. Then back in the house for more reading and dishes. Some snacks and up to the bedroom for TV and games.

Well happy Easter. 2019. Got up at 8. Made Steve a skillet breakfast with tortillas. Did the dishes got dressed and started sewing. We decided to just kick back today. Steve carved and painted. All my four patches are finished. I need to square them up before I slice and dice them. We had a steak for dinner. We actually shared one. Steve grilled it. We walked the dogs a couple if times. The park that was full yesterday has emptied out.
After dinner we decided to sit outside where is was much cooler. Nice breeze out. I came in and sewed some more. Will most likely have to pick everything up tomorrow. TV and reading for the rest of the night.

Day before Easter. The park is full. People continue to dye Easter eggs.
We were up at 7 and had breakfast and did our chores. I decided to sew while it was cool. About 11 I asked Steve if we were going to do something. Or go somewhere. We walked the dogs then jumped in the truck and went to the culebra area. Steve wanted to go into a Michael's. Then Walmart. We wanted drinks but the selection was very limited. Only peach this time. No enchilada sauce or green chilis. I forgot Lillie's card. I thought I forgot crisco but I have some I will be able to make cookies as planned. An no bananas. So we headed back. We were going to stop at 4 way for a burger but there was no room to park. So we tried Bob's burger. Closed for Easter. So we stopped at a n unnamed bar and grill on P37. What a come down. People were smoking in the bar. I thought the food was ordinary but Steve loved it. My burger was dry and the menu was very limited.
Back to the rig and more sewing. I did the second seam on the 4 patch. Will have to finish last 10 and iron them all. It was good practice nesting seams. The new machine makes everything so much easier. We snacked for dinner. I sewed. Then Steve and I sat outside and enjoyed the cool evening. Very pleasant.
Then TV and games. Easter is not my favorite holiday. Don't like to color eggs. Don't eat chocolate. What else is there? Ham?

Well we had a quiet day in the camper. The temp was nice but there was quite a bit of wind. The park indeed filled up. There is a million kids here most of the screaming their heads off.
We got up and breakfasted. I sewed on my new quilt project. Steve sat outside and carved. About 1 we ate left over Pizza for lunch. More sewing and carving.
Then I read for awhile and it was time to feed the dogs and fix dinner. I made a new dish called smoked sausage skillet dinner.
It was okay and I would most likely make it again
Steve and I walked the dogs. I did dishes . Then it was time for the usual TV and games. Glenda abandoned me all day today.

Well last night we had a rough night. It finally started raining about 11. Of course along with the rain came thunder and lightning. The dogs were freaking out. It was still hot in the house. We fell asleep about 1.
Sophie woke me up about 8:15.
It was disappointing to find out that I didn't shrink last week. The scale said 205.0 on the dot.
We had breakfast dressed and I left for the laundromat. I was the only one there the whole time. Betty started texting while I was at the laundry. And hasn't stopped all day.
Once I got back I walked the dogs and hazel finally pooped.
Then I walked the dogs put the clothes away had a snack for lunch and settled down to work on my quilt.
Around 5 we went to Bandera for Pizza and ice cream.
The weather was nice today albeit windy.
Came back and did TV for the rest of the evening. Shower and reading to come.
Sandy Clark called to check on us. She acts like talking makes her nervous. Guess she needs more practice.

What a day. Unfortunately this day started early. Steve couldn't sleep and therefore neither could I. Once he woke me up at 3 ish I couldn't go back to sleep so I read for awhile. I finally got to sleep only to be woken up at 7:15 when Steve decided to put Sofie on the bed. Got up and did chores. Steve was getting nervous about the repair job so he asked Oscar to come over and make sure he had all the parts he needed. Turns out a tire was gouged and and we needed new shackles and something to do with equiflex. Anyway we ordered a bunch more stuff. I was finally able to do some cutting for my disappearing 4 patch. I made one and it turned out very well. So I proceeded to cut almost all I will need for this project. My sewing machine continues to make things so much easier. I decided to sew of course Steve wanted me to walk to the garage bin with him. I decided to cut in the kitchen as it is easier on my back. I got everything cleared off and Steve decided to have a hit dog and chili with chopped onions and cheese with toasted bread. So I fixed all that.
Oscar came about 3 and confirmed all that we needed.
I fixed chicken bacon Ranch penne pasta. It was OK. I worked my magic to get two meals worth in the freezer. We don't have room for Steve's popsicles.
Well tomorrow is weigh day. I will be interested to see if I shrunk three days in a row.
Fingers crossed all the parts will be here on Monday as scheduled and the weather will cooperate so we can be on the road Wednesday
Hot and muggy all day. Expecting a thunderstorm tonight.

Another day in paradise. I am not sure why I don't like this place. I know we get the hot afternoon sun every afternoon. The place needs a lot of TLC. They are supposed to be working on lots of projects but none seem to be actually underway. Anyway we were up and at it fairly early 8 am. Morning chores were done. Then we packed it all in the truck and left. We stopped at the office and were finally able to extend our stay until the 24th.
Then we were on our way to Fredricksburg. It is a cute tourist destination. We decided to eat at the German Bakery. While we were searching for the bakery we sped through a couple of shops. Lunch was OK but Steve tried some German food while I played it safe and stuck with a BLAT. Once lunch was over we left there and headed over to Kerrville. We dropped in on the niece Kim Long at Ferguson's where she is manager.
Finally a shopping trip through Walmart. Still have things on the list and they had very few drinks on hand.
We circled back through Bandera. We arrived back here about 4. We unloaded the groceries and put them away. Dinner dishes a few minutes in the sewing room and off to TV and games.

What an incredible day and not in a good way. Steve was up at 3 am. He kept dreaming of how to install the new leaf springs. He called the warranty people and found out that we had been scammed. The warranty was discontinued in January. Of course we were unable to reach Jake the repairman. We left a scathing review on Yelp. Oscar couldn't come till noon so we hung out making phone calls We ended up ordering the parts ourselves which should be here by Friday or Monday. Oscar won't be able to install till Monday or Tuesday so we will Monday or Tuesday depending on when the parts arrive So no Lake Conroe. So I got on the phone and readjusted our reservations. Today was Tax day as well.
Of course when I went to change the reservation for Lake Medina they were full up for the weekend. So Steve jumped on the motorcycle and drove down to the office. The kid said his hands were tied. But we can't move the rig. It is not drivable. So we called the manager and she told us that she would make some accommodations for us.
Once we determined that we were going to be here for 9 or 10 days we took out the motorcycle and started making the place more homey.
I was planning on having chicken roll ups for dinner but somehow the package got split and one of the rolls escaped but the entire package was messed up. So we decided on waffles.
I watched a TV program . Then I fixed us some waffles. But we ran out of whipped cream.
Then dishes and a walk with the dogs. I finally got to really try put my new machine which sews like a dream.
Since we are going to be here for awhile we are going to check out Fredericksburg. And pick up a few things at Walmart. So this really the first major crisis we have had that couldn't be resolved right away. We also ran into a problem getting the dog's heartworm medicine renewed. When it rains it pours I guess. But there are more than one way to skin a cat.
So the day finally ends on a less stressful note.

So the day finally ends on a less stressful note.

We had a very laid back day. Got up around 8 and had breakfast. Hung around the house for awhile then Steve decided to go out and carve for awhile. I decided to do some much needed cleaning. I pledged all the wood I could reach. Then I read for awhile. I went outside and read out there for awhile. We came in for lunch. Then Steve returned to carving and I mopped the kitchen and bath. Then I decided to work on my treasure necklace for awhile.
Next dinner and dishes with a short walk with the dogs.
Then TV and games. Glenda deserted me today hope all is OK.
We are anxiously awaiting the repair guy for the trailer hope he comes early.

Well this was certainly an interesting day. The dog woke me up at 4:30. I took her out but nothing happened. I dozed until almost 6 when I woke Steve up. Our plan was to be on the road headed to Lake Conroe by 7':30. So at 7:39 we were on the road. The rain was holding off. Perfect.
About 5 miles down the road at the corner of P37 and FM (farm to market road) 1283 Steve noticed that the trailer was listing to port. He pulled off the side of the road he crawled under the trailer and unbelievably the new leaf spring was fowled up and bent. So we were on the phone once again with Good Sam Roadside assistance. They found a mobile repairman come out and find us. Of course the rain that was holding off poured on us. He followed us and got us turned around and headed back to the campground. He will come on Monday and fix us up. We extended our stay here for a few more days and put off our stay at lake Conroe. We got set up in our same spot and waited out the rain thunder and lightning and hail. I took the the dogs for a walk and got caught in s downpour.
We ate our picnic lunch in the trailer. We decided to take a drive to see the natural area. We did find Rancho Cortez where Sam Fitzsimmons did spring break with her grandkids.
The nature area was not much. Dirt roads notwithstanding.
We came back to Bandera and I picked up a few things at the market.
We came back to the rig and I put away the groceries and decided to watch TV and take a little snooze. Jim and Sherry came over to check on us. We chatted for awhile.
By the time they left it was time to feed the dogs and fix dinner.
So we are here for at least 2 more days and the bike is in the back so no sewing. Perhaps some beading. I think I will use the time to some much needed cleaning.
Dishes and a brisk walk with the dogs and then TV and reading.

This is our last day here and I can't say I am sorry. I am not sure why I don't like this park but there is just something that dosen't sit right with me. It is like most Thousand trails park pretty run down. They are talking about upgrades but that seems to be mostly talk.
We got up early for us about 7:30 breakfasted and showered. We put away as much as we could for our departure tomorrow morning. At 10:30 we hooked up with our new friends the Oakleys cousins to the Leaches. They drove us to Medina to the Apple Store where we had a wonderful lunch and of course apple pie a la mode. We chatted quite awhile. The we jumped into the car and headed home.
We each went to our separate homes for awhile then they came over to check out the rig and we chatted for another couple of hours. Steve showed his art projects off.
I finally finished my Catherine Coulter book the Last Second.
We snacked for dinner again. Then a quick walk with the dogs and TV.
Bertha called to ask about the machine and highly recommended the Juki.
We chatted for awhile. More TV.
We are having trouble finding insurance for the Placerville house. We will have to raise the rent to Nikki.

Well today went much better than expected. The best part of the day was first thing this morning when I got on the scale . I came in at 203.1! Down for the second time in a row. Got keep up the downward momentum. We got up late as usual. I noticed that Steve had long pants on so I asked him if he was going on a motorcycle ride He said yes. I was determined not to be left here to melt. I asked If we could go look at sewing machine before he rode. He never rode or carved.
So off we went to Grome's sewing machine about 30 mi. We bought a nice Juki . With all the attachments it came out to $500.
We decided to stop at 4 way for another wonderful lunch and it didn't disappoint. After lunch we headed home. Steve had the machine set out and ready to roll by the time I got back from walking the dog. So I got it threaded and ready to run checked it input and unfortunately put it away. We will be breaking down early tomorrow. So no point in dragging it all out to put it away so soon. I took another stab at that dam bracelet but I think it is going to wait til we get to Creede. Unless I get brave.
I did get a little work done on the treasure necklace.
We had egg sandwiches for dinner.
Joanie Leach advised us that her cousin and her husband were staying in the same park as us. She told us what soot they had and it was only one row over from where we are camped. So we have been checking off and on so we could go visit with them. Finally we found them at home about 7ish. Steve relived old times with them and Steve. We even decided that we go check out the best apple pie in Texas and maybe the world in Minden.
They seem to be very nice people.

Well Steve will be allowed to live. It is very hot today. I am already sick of the heat. We better get out of hear tomorrow afternoon. We got up really late and I got up at 9.
I fixed Steve biscuits and gravy and eggs. We chatted with our new neighbor. Steve carved for awhile I headed. I had the bracelet all together except one bead that wasn't laying right. Of course now it won't Lay right. I ended up putting it away for at least a day. We both took the dogs for two separate long walks.
This afternoon was miserably hot even though there was a nice breeze.
I do not like this park. There is nothing to do. And it is too hot to do it even if there I was something. There aren't many people to talk to as most people leave during the hit part of the day. Our neighbors are from Michigan and have been on the road 20 years. They looked at a picture of the Clark's and thought they looked familiar. Louis and Pat nor last name yet. They belonged to the freightliner club til it folded.
We grilled some steaks on the BBQ. Then sat outside to get cool. I can hardly wait to leave this place.

Steve and I are not in sync lately. Not sure what the problem is. I feel like I am walking on eggshells again. I think we are both adjusting to a different lifestyle much less busy than we have been for the last four months that is for sure. Part of it is this IRS Payment coming on the 15th. There are not a lot of distractions not a lot of other people to act as a buffer. I don't know guess I will just have to wait him out.
I am sure we will have a come to Jesus talk one of these days. It will all come to a head one of these days. Will just have wait till the volcano erupts.
We had a rather laid back day. We got up late and had breakfast. We took care of some business things then Steve went out to carve it was already 11. I did a few chores then I went out in the back to do some beading. I worked on putting the triangles together for the rick rack bracelet. We stopped for a break then I went back to finish doing what I could on the bracelet. I actually felt relaxed beading.
Then I walked the dogs and we took off for an early dinner at the China bowl in Bandera. A quick stop at Lowes Grocery for a few incidentals and back to the rig.
Everything was fine and we were sitting out by the fire and vesuvius erupted over when he had his revision surgery. I don't understand his need to always be right. His need to be master and slave. I would be the slave in that scenario.
Anyway now he is not speaking to me again. Oh well what else is new.
Now we are in our separate rooms for the remainder of the night.
This park is definitely not a favorite. It is rather run down.

Wow what a day. We got up and out of here by 9:30. We tried to lengthen our stay at Lake Conroe. We were not able to so we added days here at Lake Medina. We changed our plans and are not going to Georgetown. We took about an hours drive into downtown San Antonio to see the Riverwalk. We found parking fairly close near the Historic O'Brien Hotel. Then off to the Riverwalk on foot. There was every favorite restaurant along the walk. Joe's crab shack, Hard Rock, Rain Forest, Tony Romo's, and a lot of local places. We chose Bubba Gumps. We took a detour on our March to get a ticket for the river barges. We went up and checked out the Alamo. Very small place. We bought water and T-shirts. Hot day.
Wonderful lunch at Bubba Gumps. We bought tickets there for the boats.
After lunch we walked a little further down the walk and got on a boat. We were given an in depth spiel about the riverwalk.
We got dropped off at the other end of the walk then tried to walk back to the car. Unfortunately we had the wrong address for the parking lot. But after walking in circles because the GPS doesn't work well around tall buildings. Finally after more than 9 thousand steps we made it to the car. Then another hour drive back to rig and the puppies. We flopped on the couch. And never moved.
Just a note--San Antonio is the second largest city in Texas second only to Houston. The 7th largest in the US.
We had a snack for dinner. Crackers, cheese and salami. Grapes and a nut bar. One big meal a day is plenty.

Blah day today. We got up late. There was thunder and lightning last night as well as lots of wind we left the awning out last night and about 5 am Steve got up and pulled the awning in.
It was raining when we got up rather hard. It lasted til about noon then the sun came up and the temp came up as well. Steve wanted sausage and eggs for breakfast. We had that and I washed the dishes.
The I trudged off to the laundry for three loads of clothes.i was not too enthused about doing laundry but life happens. I finished up about 2:30 and started to sew.
Steve was in a fucked mood all day and mentioned that on the way to the laundry. The laundry facilities were pretty dumpy for the park. Kind of ramshackle if you ask me.
I came back and got everything put away and starting to sew the last 4 rows on the slice and dice layer cake quilt. Unfortunately the machine decided to take a dump. Will have to take it in to get it serviced. The timing is off. It won't make a stitch.
We decided to grill some ribs which I just put in the freezer this morning. So I defrosted them and we grilled them. Dinner and dishes. I decided to cut the blocks for Lillye's quilt. I had plenty of the cat material left.
Then we took the dogs for a walk . Hazel is getting really picky where and when she will poop. She pooped on the pee pad last night and will do so again tonight most likely.
Steve finally found a reason to blow up.
So I went up to my TV room with the dogs for the rest of the night.

Another day in paradise. We got up at 7:30 . Steve let me go back to sleep for another 15 whole minutes. We had breakfast then I took a shower. Kim Long and her husband Ron came to visit about 11. I sewed some while we were waiting. We sat here and chatted until about 1pm. We jumped in the truck and went over to the 4 way cafe and had a great meal delicious hamburgers. Ron seems like he is a real nice guy. He is 48 and she is 52. She works for Ferguson plumbing. Ron duffers from PTSD. I got the skinny on Chris and Kari Huffman's breakup. Apparently he is gay!. What a shocker. At three we got in our separate cars and went in search of the camels which were reportedly nearby on the way to Bandera. We went through Bandera and saw a herd of antelope and several zebras Back to the rig. Tried to walk Hazel but no poops from her. We snacked for dinner. I sewed for awhile. Now it is TV and bed.

We got up comfortably me around 8. We decided to take care of errands today. Steve wanted to go to Harbor Freight so we packed up the dogs and took off for San Antonio or the outskirts there of. First we stopped at Harbor Freight. Then Lowes. We decided on getting haircuts. While we waiting for hair cuts we had our toe nails done. Unfortunately I was wearing tennis shoes so I didn't have polish put on. I miss having color on my toes. I liked that they had sterilized tools new for each client but their service was questionable. The gal that did Steve's toes had bright red hair and was made up almost like a geisha. I could hardly understand the guy that humid mine. We went to Sports clips which was different. Good hair cut tho. It was all men in there. Then off to Petsmart to get greenies.
Lastly we went to Walmart in Helotes.
Before we got to Walmart we had lunch at Taco bell.
We got home about 4pm. Put groceries away then we hung out in the rig. We get the afternoon sun so it is really hot in the afternoons.
I sat down finally and got some sewing done..
We snacked for dinner and had cheese quesadillas.
Dishes more sewing and finally my personal favorite sitting around the fire.
Then TV and games.

What a day!. We left our roadside rest stop which I have to say was not all that bad. I was thrilled to weigh in at 204.6 down 2.2 from last week. Would love to see it down again next week.We were way in the back of the rest rooms. It was very quiet and nobody bothered us. I didn't miss any TV programs due to the generator.
We were headed to Boerne for breakfast at Denny's but the parking was not conducive to our rig size. So we headed to Pipe Creek and Jimmy's burgers where I had waffles and fruit and sausage. It was great.
We arrived at our par about 11:30. We found a great spot and got set up. We took a short walk down to the lake. The sun came out about then so we took our time setting.up. We finally got the motorcycle out and I decided to take a cold shower and wash my hair.
We had dinner about 6:30. Still not used to the time change. Did the few dishes still without hot water. I think we finally got some hot water now. Not sure what the problem was.
Then we decided to sit out for awhile with the fire. It was nice and the temp was just right.
Finally came in and finished the handwork on the green crazy quilt. I was also able to square up the layer cake quilt and put it together in rows. Not real crazy about it but I have decided to give it to Brita and Dave. It is too big for my machine. I will have to take to a longarmer to quilt.
It is very humid here. At least until the sun goes down.

Aoril 3, 2019 Boondocking Rest area between Comfort and Kerrville TX
We are at a rest stop about 5 or 10 miles out of Kerrville Texas in the Hill country which is much nicer than where we were last night. One thing about Texas is that it BIG.
We got up late. I got up at 9. The time change really screwed up our internal clocks. We has breakfast. Hazel refused to poop because she didn't like the grass or the rocks.
We took off about 10:30 and drove about 360 miles. We are about an hours drive from Lake Medina. Steve was adamant that we boondock this evening. So we are in a very nice rest stop close to Comfort Texas. I was not thrilled with the idea but we are booked solid till we get to Florida. I feel so exposed. But we are at the very back of the rest stop and the dogs have nice grass to poop on. Hazel held off to almost 3 PM until she finally got the urge.
We opened a new can of nuts. I reached in to take a prized pecan. Steve reached it first. Like there were no more in there. What a buzz kill. Good word Betty.
Sandy has not responded to any of my texts as she promised. Out of sight out of mind.
It is overcast and somewhat rainy. More promised in the days to come.
We had a quick dinner of tamales for Steve and leftover chicken for me. With a side of cottage cheese and fruit.

April 2, 2019 Oasis RV Park, Van Horn, TX
We drove a long ways today. 359 miles mostly down I 10. We started out early and made our first stop in Lourdesville NM. We left at 8 not taking advantage of the complimentary breakfast at the RV place.
We stopped at the rest stop in Las Cruses where the giant roadrunner overlooks the city.
We lost two hours and are now in Central time zone. We made one other rest stop outside of El Paso TX. Very barren land here. We have one more
Night's stop before we get to Lake Medina. We don't have reservations so we are going to wing it.
We arrived here just after 5 central time. We did not unhook again . We set up quickly and did the normal evening chores. Dinner consisted of scrambled eggs with ham and cheese and hash browns. Dishes and retired to the bedroom for TV and hand sewing.
We we call it a night in a bit.
Will be anxious to stay put when we get to Lake Medina. Not real impressed with this part of Texas.

April 1, 2019 Fort Wilcox RV park, Wilcox AZ
We are back on the road after 4 months being fairly stationary. We got up and were on the road by 9:15. The Clark's and the Buhman's were all sitting out in front of their rig watching us hook up. It was sad to say good bye but I know that Sandy wanted Jean all to herself. The went to a quilt shop in Surprise and then I think they were going to Nancy's for lunch.
We stopped at the rest stop outside if Casa Grande. Then we ate lunch in the truck just outside of Tuscon. We met up with Don Hankins so Steve could get his massage sharpener. We then traveled a few miles down the road and stopped at the rest stop at the top of Texas Canyon. Lots of interesting rock formations there. Then on to Wilcox. We traveled 264 mikes mostly on Hwy 10.
We arrive at Ft. Wilcox RV park about 3:30. We were greeted by a hillbilly on a tractor. We did not unhook so it was a fairly quick set up.
Steve played with his new toy and I fixed dinner.
I went up stairs for TV and sewing til I ran out of thread.
Tomorrow we arrive in Texas.
