Well this was certainly an interesting day. The dog woke me up at 4:30. I took her out but nothing happened. I dozed until almost 6 when I woke Steve up. Our plan was to be on the road headed to Lake Conroe by 7':30. So at 7:39 we were on the road. The rain was holding off. Perfect.
About 5 miles down the road at the corner of P37 and FM (farm to market road) 1283 Steve noticed that the trailer was listing to port. He pulled off the side of the road he crawled under the trailer and unbelievably the new leaf spring was fowled up and bent. So we were on the phone once again with Good Sam Roadside assistance. They found a mobile repairman come out and find us. Of course the rain that was holding off poured on us. He followed us and got us turned around and headed back to the campground. He will come on Monday and fix us up. We extended our stay here for a few more days and put off our stay at lake Conroe. We got set up in our same spot and waited out the rain thunder and lightning and hail. I took the the dogs for a walk and got caught in s downpour.
We ate our picnic lunch in the trailer. We decided to take a drive to see the natural area. We did find Rancho Cortez where Sam Fitzsimmons did spring break with her grandkids.
The nature area was not much. Dirt roads notwithstanding.
We came back to Bandera and I picked up a few things at the market.
We came back to the rig and I put away the groceries and decided to watch TV and take a little snooze. Jim and Sherry came over to check on us. We chatted for awhile.
By the time they left it was time to feed the dogs and fix dinner.
So we are here for at least 2 more days and the bike is in the back so no sewing. Perhaps some beading. I think I will use the time to some much needed cleaning.
Dishes and a brisk walk with the dogs and then TV and reading.
