July 31, 2020 Salem Campground and RV Park, Salem OR

We Travelled today. We got up and were out the door by 8:30.  We were all ready and out the door by 8:30.  We hit the dump unfortunately the  closest one was closed so we had to go clear across the park to dump.   Then if to LaPine for gas and a compete truck and trailer wash.   My nice clean windows are all spotted.   Then we were on our way.  It was about 10:30.  We drove 166 miles including out little sidectrup to LaPine. We stopped Detroit  Lakes for lunch.  We took Hwy 20 to 22 all the way to Salem.  The place here is pretty seedy.  We did Chinese takeout for dinner.  It was mediocre at best.  Then it was time for TV and cuddles.

July 30, 2020 Bend Sunriver RV Campground, Bend OR

Well another laid back hot day. We got up at 8.  I actually was up before Steve.  I slept downstairs next to Sophie.  She must have gotten cold because she crawled on my lap.  Then she woke me up as she wanted to go upstairs.   About 5:30 I went upstairs.  The heater actually came on.  It was cold this morning.   It soon warmed up.  I had breakfast then started sewing the last block.  We sat outside as is becoming our custom which I am sure will stop as soon as we get satellite.   Then I finished my last block--so sad to see the end.  I will have plenty more work to do.  We had grilled cheese for lunch it was yummy.  Then little by little we oucked up the trailer to get ready for our departure.   Finally  time to fix dinner.   Then TV and cuddles closed out the day.

July 29, 2020 Bend Sunriver RV Campground, Bend OR

We had a real kick back day today.  We got up late.  Fixed Steve a big breakfast.  We sat outside for awhile and Steve got a bug up his ass to wash the windows.   The really needed it but the rig is scheduled to be washed on Friday.  Now the nice clean windows will be spotted.  Of course I was trying to sew while he was window washing.  I thought the better part of valor was to leave the area and go brush my hair.  I sewed most of the day and even after dinner.  We BBQ'ed Iowa chops. 
It was almost 8:30 when the dogs and I went upstairs for TV and cuddles.

July 28, 2020 Bend Sunriver RV Campground, Bend 0R

Day two of exploring the area.  We left here about nine and headed to La Pine to make sure the truck wash is open.  Got gas. Then headed over to Sisters on Hwy 20 .  Went to the quilt store.  Kind of disappointing.  Didn't find the sashing I was looking for but the one in Newport has what I need.  Then we stopped at the Post Office the headed up 20 to take 126 to Belknap hot springs.  We checked out Clear Lake Resort.  It was packed.    Then we lunched along the Mackenzie River.   Then we took Hwy 242 and checked out Camp Yale. Then we went up over Santiam Pass and Mackenzie Pass.  They had some beautiful views.  Lots of Lava rock. They had a really cool observation tower at the top.   We stopped at Costco to pick up more Tylenol.  Then back to the rig.  I walked the dogs then we hung out til 5:30 then we walked over to the food truck and had some great burgers.
Back atvthecrig I did some cutting which did not go as well as I would have hoped.  Finally TV and cuddles.
We had a late night thunderstorm.   Jerry and Sheila will come to visit us when we are at Whaler's Rest.   They rented a cabin.  Steve and Jerry will fish for a day.  Debbie and Sheila will try to stay out of trouble. 

July 27, 2020 Bend Sunriver RV Campground, Bend OR

Our first whole day in the bend area.  We were out of the house after a pancake breakfast.  First stop the car wash.  The truck was really dirty. We hit Costco first.  It was packed as usual.  Then another full house at Safeway.  We spent about $600 to restock the house.  We got back and put away all the groceries.   Just when it was time for me to sit down and relax after a long walk with Hazel to get the poop moving Steve decided to take a ride to Mt. Bachelor via Lava Lake.  There are lots of little lakes in the area. We got back about 5:30.  I immediately started dinner.  Steve fed the dogs and I got busy.   Then the shade next to wear i sit fell down with a little help from Mr. Fixit.  He reluctantly came to conclusion that it would be better to take the whole thing down and removing the chair  that he was trying to use as a stool.  We put dinner on hold til it was fixed.  Of course the window had to be washed inside and out so that we could have at least one clean window. Then we finally got dinner out of the way. Dishes then I escaped up to the bedroom for TV and cuddles.
The Stickney's will joing us for 4 nights in Newport.

July 26, 2020 Bend Sunriver RV Campground, Bend OR

We had a really great day today.   We got up leisurely.  Ate breakfast.  Steve torqued thectraiker wheels then we hit the road. We took 26 to 97vthecwhole way.   While we were sitting out last night there were two rigs in the parking lot besides us.  When I took the dogs out there were two more small airstream lined up with the one that was there last night.  Apparently they had the same idea that we had.  They were headed to  Bend Sunriver also.  We drove  the 70 miles to the park but first we decided to stop and get the unit washed unfortunately the truck wash was closed.  Then we got to the park shortly before noon.  We checked in and found a great spot not far into the park.  And it was a pull thru.  Unfortunately no satellite and no air TV.  We do have alot recorded.  It is very dusty here.  We had a snack for lunch.   Then finished setting  up.  Then we drove around and checked out the park.   Back to the rig the walk the dogs.  We sat out in front of the rig and enjoyed the nice day.  So much nicer than esatern WA.  Dan goes back to work tomorrow.   Still asymptomatic. We had dinner.  More dog walking.  Then TV and cuddles.

July 25, 2020 Erickson Aircraft Collection , Madras OR

We tried out Harvest Hosts for the first time.  We left about 9 :30.  We made a beeline down 26 to 90 to 82 to 97 to Madras. It was about 270 miles. Instead of getting gas on the Columbia River he decided to play chicken with the gas tank.  We were within 3 miles of losing to the gas tank.  As soon as we came into town we hit the Safeway and filled the gas tank.  We put 36.1 gallons in a 35 gallon tank.   Then off to Erickson Aircraft Collection to get out spot.  Steve got set up while I walked the dogs.  Then we all went to the museum.  It was quite amazing.  Then back to rig to relax .  Dinner the we watched TV .  We sat out for awhile the came back for TV And cuddles.
