David and Brita came for an early dinner. They were here about 3 hours.
We got up late as usual. Breakfast and chores as usual. Steve finally decided to do some carving. I worked on block 8. I ended cutting a whole new block. David and Brita came about 2:30. I had everything prepared and we ate outside. Dave is still the same person. He has become fairly close to Brita's family. Course due to our travels we are not close to any of the kids and grandkids. It was kind of awkward since we don't have much in common. We are not really part of each other's lives. I don't think David was too impressed with the quilt. After they left I sewed and finished block 8. Dishes and finally it was time for TV and cuddles.
I was kind of dreading the dinner since I knew it would be awkward but it was ok. I think Brita is a good match for David and it sounds like they are planning on making it a permanent thing. I wonder if that includes marriage. They are thinking about coming to Newport while we are there. That would be very different for us. They would not be there for long.
