June 12, 2019 Eagles Nest RV Resort , Pigeon Forge, TN

We were up at the crack of dawn this morning. We were off to see the Biltmore Estate in Asheville.   We stopped at a nearby McDonalds for a breakfast sandwich.  The off fir a two hour drive. We got there early but Steve didn't get off at the right exit so we spent a half an hour getting to the Dog House Doggie Day Care.  Once we dropped off the dogs we headed over to the Biltmore Estate.  Once we got our tickets we headed up to the parking lot  we took the tram up to the house.  The estate and hotel are on an 8,000 acre parcel of land.  The house has 100 bedrooms,43 bathrooms and has 175,000 sq. ft.  They employ 2,500 people.
We took the self guided tour.  Steve gave new meaning to the word whirlwind.  I didn't get to listen the tapes in full trying to keep up with Steve.  Just trying to imagine the wealth that went into building and furnishing the house was overwhelming.   It too 6 years to build.
Once we were done with the house we took the trolley to the gardens and conservatory.   They had a train or trains running all through the conservatory.   The plants inside were incredible. Then back to the truck and we took a ride to Antler Farm where the hotel is.
Finally we picked up the puppies from daycare and drove over to the Creekside Tavern for lunch with Brianne and her husband Demetri.  Sons Braden 5 and Dawson 2 were also there.  Dawson decided to pee over the side of the walkway down to the creek.
Brings back memories.
We left there about 3:30 and returned home by 6.  We snacked for dinner.  I cut out a new block for Main street quilt.
Betty is making me nuts with all this texting.
Once that was done we retired to our separate rooms for TV.
