July 7, 2019 A1 Truck Repair Lot, Underwood IA

We got an early start this morning leaving the Heebner farm. I am in no rush to return to the farm.  There are just too many bugs and I can wait a lifetime to see tami.  Steve was up at 6 but I wanted my extra half an hour.  We still left at the planned time shortly after 8.  We took 71 to 18 then back to 71 then 39 to 59 to 80. We drove 176 miles.  We pulled into a rest stop for lunch after getting gas at a Casey's along 80.  Something didn't seem right and Steve checked under the trailer's wheels and sure enough another leaf spring broke.  So back on the phone to Good Sam's.  Fortunately 2.5 miles down the road there was a truck repair.  We are camped there for the night.  At least it is free. As soon as we opened the door and pulled out the slides we saw that the window treatment the entire valance was laying on the couch. We hit some very bumpy  roads.  So Steve got out his handy tools and screwed it in better. So great to live with a handy man.  I finished a book I was reading and Steve took his requisite nap.  Soon it will be time to feed us and the dogs.  Thank goodness for the generator! This whole episode with the leaf Springs as us wondering if we should be full timing.
